| It would bad to have someone who hates kids to be a teacher. Would you trust someone who neglected his or her own children to teach your children. |

I agree. There's too much of a risk that the person will turn their anger on the children. That's
why most schools will conduct background checks before hiring people just to be on the safe side. |

Not only should those with a history or child abuse be banned from the teaching profession, but I
personally do not believe they should be allowed to live right next door to a school or playground.
I recently looked at a list of local sex offenders and I was shocked to see how many of the
offenders who had preyed on children actually live right next to places where there are bunches of
kids....this doesn't seem coincidental to me. Of course, it depends upon the offense...to believe
that a 20 year old who has a 17 year old girlfriend is a terrible person is silly, but for those who
truly prey on innocent kids, we need to keep them a lot further away from our kids. They don't
belong where they will be tempted or where they have easy access to children. |

Most certainly not! Schools are supposed to be safe environments and having an abusive teacher
would be dangerous. |

Yup. I agree, but the level of child abuse has to be that of an extreme to prevent people from
becoming a teacher if they really wanted to. Besides, what if they abused children in their 30s, and
now, when they are 40, they aren't allowed to become a teacher even though they abused a child 10
years ago? |

People with a record of child abuse should be compulsorily and permanently banned from becoming
teachers as they will produce criminals or citizens with various kinds of behavioral disorders. This
is quite surprising isn’t it? But this is the hard fact of life as a hard core criminal will only
help in preparing more criminals the same is true in the above case. The children in the class have
the tendency to look up at their teachers as an idol and worship them in the same manner by
following in their footsteps so they will learn whatever they experience in the class room under
their teachers. It is very rightly said that a teacher enjoys a higher position than God as a
teacher is the person who shows the way to reach God. This clearly indicates that what important
role a teacher plays in the life of a child. |
