I think people that have faith get through tragedy easier. I think day to day people of faith have
a harder road to walk. We are called to be examples to others by not giving in to temptation and
desire. That's hard to do and we always fall short. So we feel the guilt that comes with falling
short. Its not easy. But its worth it. The easy road leads to destruction. The narrow way leads
to salvation. |

Maybe. But not because god helped them. Just the fact they think he is there helping helps ppl get
throw things. Just like if you walk a across a beam 100 feet in the air and it was hard because you
were scared, and another person does the same thing but thinks there is a safety net under them.
Even know there isn't a safety net, just because they thought there was helped them get across. Same
with god, god is ppls safety net, an invisible noon existing safety net. |

Having a belief in someone/something that is outside myself and can talk me down off the ledge when
necessary leads me to believe that having faith is indeed making my life a better ride! |

Yes. It takes a lot of Faith, and Courage, to live in this world. Or to survive. |

Faith in times of hardship can help pull you through. You have to know how to use the faith and not
forget how to, abusing it, then you will end up getting hurt in the end ultimately. It is sometimes
better to go through without faith and learn from the experience so you have that to go with you,
too. |

I actually think life IS easier for people of faith. Loss of life is less painful when one is
convinced the dead still live and that there will be a reunion someday. A fantasy to make life
easier. |

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Faith carries you through trial and tribulation, if you have it. If
you are an atheist, you don't have any faith to slow you down with in the first place. |

No, in fact I'd say ultimately they go through life harder because they believe someone should be
looking out for them and when things go badly, they're not only stuck dealing with their bad
fortune, but are confused why their imaginary friend in the sky isn't doing what they want.
Ultimately, many of them become convinced that not only are they having bad things happen to them,
but it must be something that they did that made God unhappy with them. |

Here we go again with the atheist-bashing nonsense …
I get through my days just hunky-dory with a complete lack of faith. I live a very moral life, based
loosely on The Golden Rule, and do not feel guilty when I break the 10 Commandments -- which, face
it, we ALL do all of the time!
My life is not “a random occurrence,” and it certainly doesn’t lack meaning. By saying this
about atheists, you are giving all Christians a bad name as nay-saying, condemning hypocrites.
If anything, having faith makes life HARDER because you have a vindictive, scolding, censorious God
staring over your shoulder at all times. And you spend all day worrying about whether your actions
will deny you access to heaven. I have only myself to which to answer at the end of the day -- and I
look forward to total annihilation after my death. Ha! |

Not so sure. If you are an atheist life has less meaning. Your life is nothing but a random
occurrence. There is a certain non-emotional component that you could easily adopt as an atheist.
This would minimize the impact of life's tragedies. You could intellectualize the events of one's
life and understand it in a more cold and calculated way. |
