Yes. I think that a person should quit their job if they are unhappy with their job. However, in my
personal opinion, you should do what God says! |

If you can't find any happiness in your job, quit it without heisitation. |

Yeah if they are truly unhappy provided they have another job or career option lined up to ensure
they still have an income and stability there is no reason why a person shouldnt move on to another
career . This may help them to feel more valued and get job satissfaction again. |

I agree but if you are going to quit you should have another job to go to before you do. |

I had spent more than 30 years with my nose to the grindstone in the same field. At 52, I was a
middle manager making decent money -- but miserable with working 12-hour days on salary and going to
bed at 1:30 a.m. After working swing shift.
I met a woman who had changed jobs frequently, and I thought, “Gee, I could never go out on a limb
like that and just quit a job!” But after a very bad day on the job, I reviewed my finances --
carrying the papers on a $250,000 mortgage, refinancing my house -- and quit.
I had always dreamed of retiring early, before I lost my health to pursue my beloved outdoors
activities. It was scary at first, but the best thing I could have done.
Ask yourself, which has more value: Your mental health or your need for material items? |

Yes, I would like to support those people who are not at all satisfied with their present work and
want to quit for the same reason. In the professional field there is a word which is called job
satisfaction. Satisfaction is the thing which may lead the individual to the higher prospect and it
is all about the enjoyment during the work. Those people who have been feeling themselves unhappy
with their present work for quite a long time they should think for a change. When an individual is
not enjoying his job at all that means it is not his cup of tea. If he continues the work without
the due enthusiasm that means he is killing his career and potentiality that would help him for
growing better with another job. |

I think that they should if they can. But if they cant they are screwed and have to keep working
there until they know that they can afford living on the money they have previously made while they
find a job. |

I think people should have the option to quit if they want to. However, if it were me, i'd have to
take into consideration if it was just a burnout (something i just went through) and it would get
better, or if my lifestyles would change because of an income change. I'd also have to decide if it
was worth loosing my retirement or if it would follow. I work in a public service and I get burnt
out a lot and often 'dislike' my job. However, it comes in spurts and at times like now, i'm glad I
didn't change. But, I do like having the option, and I'm sure others do as well. So, if you are
unhappy, give it a lil longer.
I learned that sometimes you can't change your employer or the people you come in contact with or
even your coworkers... But if your good at your job and you make a difference... The only thing
you can do is change your attitude. Usually, that makes all the difference. |

Yes, people should quit their job if they are unhappy. They can continue to bring in an income by
keeping their current job right up until they find a new one. People who are unhappy at work will
not carry out their job properly. Their work will be affected, particularly if they are unhappy
because they are being bullied by their boss or work colleagues.
Unhappiness with a job may lead to other things, like depression, so it is better to look for
something else that at least makes you happier than your current job, even if it isn't the best job
in the world.
Sure, there may be a family to feed and bills will need to be paid, but unhappiness can lead to a
breakdown in family relationships and cause even more trouble.
As long as you keep your current job whilst you are looking for something better, then there
shouldn't be a problem. |

I absolutely agree. Working in a miserable environment is the worst. If you aren't happy with your
Job you should go find another one to replace it. A friend of mine was in a job where he had no
friends, the work piled up, and his boss was always hounding him for some reason or another. Your
boss chewing you out every day produces much the same response as someone chasing you around with a
knife. |

I agree that if you are unhappy in your job, you should find another one. No one deserves to be in
an unhappy situation and life is too short to be unhappy. I do not think that someone should quit a
job until they have found something else that definite. To quit a job without having another one in
place is a crazy move. However, if a person is truly unhappy with a job, then they should definitely
not stay with that job. Why be miserable when it is not really necessary? One deserves to be happy
with their life in every aspect, and that does include with work. I agree that you should not quit a
job until you have another one to replace it, but I disagree that it is essential for one to remain
in a job that makes them unhappy. |

Quitting a job if you hate your work responsibilities will only be a good option to opt for when you
have a better offer or opportunity at hand. When people quit a job and have no other work to do they
enter an uncertain realm where they may be unemployed for several months. Employment is hard to find
as it is and the job you leave will instantly be taken. It’s not the employer that will be at a
loss in such a situation.
So, if you hate the work you do look for a better job and quit only once you have your future job
secured. |

I think that if someone is truly unhappy with their work then they should quit and find another job.
Life is too short to spend it unhappy and miserable. Nothing is worst than waking up on a daily
basis and being forced to go to a place that you hate. I would definitely quit any job that made me
unhappy. Happiness plays a very important role in one's success. If one is not happy with their
work, then they cannot be successful. So overall, there is a reason why someone is unhappy. They
should either remedy that situation or find another job that will make them happy. |

Our work is not about having fun. Its about providing for your family. You do what you have to do
to provide for them. If you can change and still do that then fine but being happy in your job is
not the most important criteria. |

Of course if you are really unhappy you should quit your job but not to become unemployed. It
depends on the circumstances totally; if you are being bullied to the point of despair then of
course you should quit. But if it's just because you're tired of it or it stresses you out
unfortunately every job is going to be like that. Even if you are being bullied, i feel that you
should still find another job before quitting the job you're in at the moment. |

Its seems apparent that the people "for this" give no mention of education and bettering yourself
while the one's "against it" all mention education and bettering yourself. If your not happy where
your at what makes you think that another job, probably very similar to the one you hate, is going
to solve anything. Find something you enjoy and educate yourself in it. Try internships,
interviewing professionals, research. Its harder to go through your entire life unhappy that it is
to struggle through higher learning. |

I think people should work hard to get an education so that they may find work they enjoy. Most
people who hate their jobs are on the lower end of the pay scale. Somebody has to do the jobs. But
on the other hand, if you have an education, don't enjoy the people you work with, then, yes, by all
means, find another job first and then quit. |

It all depends on the individual circumstances of why the individual is unhappy at his or her work.
Some people just don’t like working for a living, full stop. Generally because they are lazy at
heart and think the State should look after them and their dependants.
However, if there are more serious reasons for being unhappy at work these ought to be addressed
with the management. Quitting should only ever be a very last resort, and only then if you can still
support yourself and your family or have another job to go to.
Bullying at work, lack of prospects or challenge are all things that should be tackled by
approaching management. Every avenue to find a solution or compromise should be exhausted before
considering resignation. Take advice from the union or citizens advice bureau before doing anything
rash. |

Think about this: Does a father with a starving family during a time of economic recession FORFEIT
his job in search of another one that he may OR MAY NOT get? For the sake of his family's financial
security, one should sacrifice personal happiness for the welfare of others.
I understand that this is a rare case, but so long as there IS a case against it, I'm against it.
It's like condemning an innocent man to death...that 1 in a 1,000,000 chance is still a chance. |

People should not quit their job for the sole purpose that they are not happy. However, it all
depends on the individual options that each person may have. Not everyone who doesn't like their job
can just up and quit. Many people are only 1 paycheck away from being completely broke. So for that
single father who has to pay the rent and for other necessities that come along with life, it
wouldn't be a good idea. Moreover, for the college student who is supporting himself or herself
through college with that terrible job, must hold out until he or she does not have to solely depend
on that miserable job. In the meantime a person must be as professional as possible when dealing
with unfriendly and rude personnel that can make your life more miserable if you quit and gain the
satisfaction that you are a quiter. You can use the law (you know their are unions and workers
rights for fair treatment of employees), maybe even call a few lawyers who could possibly assist and
give legal advice about your situation. All of these tools will help one to feel more in control
rather than just sitting back and playing the victim. And when and if a more fulfilling job comes
along then one should put in a two week notice and move on with one's pride and dignity intact. It
is not always good to quit something just because it's not what one wants. You have to pay your dues
in this world, and on the brighter side when someone who is going through the same or similar
situation that you went through, you can give sound advice through your unhappy and miserable
experience. No one can force us to feel anyway that we don't want to. Don't be the victim, be the
victor in hard situations such as something that you have to do for most of your life. Take charge!
I imagine how slaves worked from sun up to sun down with little of nothing to eat and poor
treatment, I wonder how they got up every morning and went to work at a job that didn't recognize
any of their contributions to their own wealth. Now imagine that, today we are much more in control
than we think. So take charge! |
