People In The UK Tell Over 4 Lies Everyday. We Are A Dishonest Society
People tell alot of lies in their daily life. Lying is a way of life.

Everyone lies. Sometimes its by mistake, sometimes its on purpose, but everyone does it. I agree with David and pebbels completely.

Everyone lies. If I ever met some1 who said they've never told a lie I'd laugh and say you just did. No matter what you've told a lie. Lies can be unconscious. Some people tell lies without realizing what their doing. 95% of the population of school kids admit to cheating (which i consider form of lying) at least once on either a test quiz worksheet project or any other kind of school work within their life times which means most people lie before they are even 20 years old. Pretty sad and yet the world does it the government does it. Your boss does it, your teacher does, you parents, your best friends, your neighbor, they all do it! Lying is natural and may be considered a way of life.

Yesssss obviously everyone does its not only about America its all over the world. People lie for their safety for fun for love and for many many reasons, its a human nature to lie so i will concede with my path that not only America but also everyone does.............

Pfff wimps i tell over 20 lies a day:P and i only say 21 things a day. Am i lying or telling the truth?? So what if they lie? Did you ever get in some kind of trouble for a lie they said? You stated absolutely no evidence.

I don’t think we are really a dishonest society at all. People of every country tell lies everyday in number of times, but would this be an apt reason to affirm the society as a dishonest society? My thoughts are different though. I practically feel the essence of telling lies in our offices, homes etc. The life has become much competitive these days that every one is involved in the rat race. And as the communication have become much faster nowadays, people hardly get a moment to be feel private. There is no time for their private & personal life now. The complexities of relationships as well as work ambiences are making people much harder in nature and they do not feel uneasy to tell some lies everyday. This is a part of our complex lives and no body should take it like saying dishonest society.

I don't think we are a dishonest society as such. I suppose most people tell some sort of mistruths including 'white' lies and I was surprised that the number, overall, was only 4 lies a day.
Some people tell so many lies they start believing them.
The news item said that men lie more than women and are worse liars. They construct many more stories but tend to be found out more often!
I don't think that because we tens to lie in our everyday lives that we are a dishonest society.
We have had some topical news items on this subject recently, with Hair and Osborne from the Labour and Conversative parties accused of not telling the truth over donations.
Perhaps if our government and politicians set a better example we would be less likely to think that lying was acceptable?
I can see why people do think we have a society which is dishonest if those in power set such a bad example.
