YES!!! Who should care about these people who make millions a year when most of us are struggling just to feed our family. The movie stars sure don't care or they would help americans first and then the rest of the world. They wll never use half the millions they have.

It's so bad it's pathetic. Who cares about these people who say they're so hot? Some of these people are such brainwashed sheep.

I like Movies and TV to a lesser extent. I can value a person's work in those formats without wanting to know whatver tabloid crud is going on. I don't care what their opinion on climate change is unless they actually have something interesting to say. And I really don't care if they have had sex with Angelina Jolie yet.

So true! I literally heard a whole hour long radio show on one thing chris brown said. That's so stupid who cares. I could say the same thing and i bet you no one would care.

I agree; I don't care about the celebs because they are just a normal person to me. I don't care what celebs do. Unlike most Americans, I mind my own business and pay attention more to my life, rather than nose around in someone else's life who never heard of me.

Well, my only argument with the debate proposition is the word "most". Frankly I think most Americans on most days either give zero thought to celebrities or may simply be passive observers to what the media is saying about them. Definitely SOME Americans are too obsessed with celebrities, and that includes the media and papparazi and bloggers and tubers that just can't seem to talk about anything else. But really those people are a tiny fraction of the population. No one in my family, friends, or at work talks any more about celebrities than a brief "did you hear?" at the watercooler during a moment with otherwise nothing special to say. They're not on pilgrimages to see them, or collecting all their memorabilia, or maintaining websites devoted to them, or arranging their schedules around Access Hollywood, etc.

The definition of obsession changes from person to person.

No. Like a lot of people pay attention to them but i don't think we are obsessed. Like celebrities are normal people but every normal person isn't on tv or rich.the other side is trying to make it seem like we are wrong for knowing information about someone else's life no its not wrong. Nd duh a celeb is a famous/well-known person so they wouldn't be one if we didn't know about them.
