People Abuse Grocery Stores More Than Other Shops. It's As If They Feel Entitled To It.
Here's what I see: Shopping carts driven home, egg cartons torn in half because they only want half, sticks of butter taken from the box, food eaten in the store and wrappers hidden, food knocked to the ground and left there, fruit squeezed and damaged and put back, arguments on coupons or sale items they already know won't be accepted, perishables discarded on shelves where they don't belong, rudeness to staff and other customers. It's as if they feel entitled to take take take and not worry about any mess they cause.

Yes grenache. I agree

What gives people the right to walk into a store eat half a bunch of grapes take them to the counter and pay for those they haven't eaten. In my book it's theft.
They give kids sweets passing the behavior on as if it was acceptable .
I suppose the natural progression is just to take them.
If you were to question them they would probably say others do it.

It is all part of the culture of instant gratification and deal with the consequence later if i have to.

Fair enough. I'm actually pleased several in the against column haven't seen this. I guess I must live amidst a considerable population of rudeness.

I have not seen this first hand for myself.
I therefore disagree with this debate for that reason.

I've not seen that in any great preponderance. It does happen, but not daily and everywhere across stores.

One thing I have seen is that stores won't remove products that are tainted in some way during the manufacturing process - packages not sealed properly, or are infested with bugs (some brands of imported Italian pasta have that problem, as do some Asian rices).

The stores would get a redit from a supplier when they send it back, but instead, the staff just tape it up and put it back on the shelf.
