Peace Is Only Obtainable Through Superior Firepower.
The liberals all think we can just negotiate with our enemies. If someone you hated with a passion came up to you and gave you a hug, would you hug him back? America is the most successful nation in the world because of the power of our military and weapons technology.

Can't we all just get along?

Nope. And unfortunately because of that truth, war becomes the only alternative sometimes. There is a level of immaturity on both sides of this argument.

The left's childlike view of the world where strength equals evil and winning is bad because it means someone had to lose and that could lead to hurt feelings is pathetic and requires a patient and measured response from the right. However, there are those of us on the right that respond with equal immaturity by making statements about turning the Middle East into a sheet of glass, or we take a "kill em' all- let God sort em' out" attitude toward our enemies.

Peace, at times, can only be attained through war. It is a fact of life, however unpleasant. There is without a doubt room for diplomacy at all times.

I think what the left tends to overlook in the War on Terror is that there is no one to negotiate peace with. We are not at war with a particular country. We are at war with a violent group of people who hide amongst civilians in several countries across the world. Osama bin Laden only speaks for Al Queda, not for Hamas. Hamas certainly does not speak for Hezbolah (sp?).

The negotiating that can take place IS taking place. We are negotiating with Iran, Iraq, Isreal, and the rest of the COUNTRIES in the middle east. The issue is not necessarily the governments of these countries. The issue is the lack of separation of church and state within these countries. While common sense dictates that it would be best to be friendly with America and her allies, their church dictates the destruction of the west.

War does not breed war. The breakdown of diplomacy breeds war.

It is very rare people cannot negotiate their way out of these circumstances. And would I hug my enemy back if they hugged me? Yes, I would, there would be no point holding a grudge. It is immature and irresponsible. And I believe China is becoming much more successful than the US now, since it is partly the US's fault that the economy is now downtrodden in the west.
Look at Switzerland, they have an army, but do not go to war, they have no enemies and no one tries to conquer them or bully them in any way, they are not affected by the finance crisis and they are one of the safest countries in the world. That is much more successful than what the US or the UK or mainland Europe have achieved.

Peace Is Obtainable By Anyone Who Doesn't Think They Must Kill Everyone Who disagrees With Them.
The only Reason America Goes to War With Every One Is Because They're.

Fear and loathing wrapped in double crossing paranoia is obtainable through delusional fire power.

All conflicts exist because at least one side does not recognize other people's right to exist.

How did the hundreds year old conflict between the British and Irish end? Was it though "superior firepower"? No.

Northern Ireland achieved peace because the British Prime Minister in the late 1980s, John Major, opened dialogue with the IRA (albeit in secret). All previous PMs refused to negotiate until the IRA disarmed. Major dropped that stupidity and negotiated without conditions.

Major asked the IRA what was the biggest sticking point for the Irish. Their answer? "A sense of fairness." Major, and later the Poodle Blair, started negotiating with Irish as equals, and stopped the abuse of Irish prisoners and aggression toward the catholics in Northern Ireland.

The result? Less than 20 years later, the IRA does not exist. The IRA didn't run out of money, they got what they wanted: To be treated as equals in Northern Ireland.

Peace in the middle east could be achieved in the same way: EVERY muslim nation and group (including Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda) have made it clear they are willing to recognize Israel's right to exist IF Israel accepts the 1967 borders and the Palestinian right to a homeland.

Israel and the don't want peace. They want genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Tyranny is the only thing attainable through superior fire power. Look at history, from the Ottoman empire to the British empire, the most technologically advanced societies eventually fall, not because they are not superior militarily but because the people get fed up with paying (thru taxes) for their empirical aspirations.

Talking to enemies makes more sense than just bombing them in every situation. What does it hurt to talk to someone, nothing. Not talking however causes countless civilian casualties and creates greater rifts than sitting down a talking to someone.

How about have no enemies by having no fighting by having no firepower whatsoever and being an entirely war and army-free country?

It's not just negotiating - us liberals think that blood thirst is rather uncivilized, and quite obviously see the utter idiocy of thinking peace can only be obtained by war.
