They should, because the kids might decide to not even go if it is too hard to make the money! |

Parents should finance education. If the student does not receive scholarships or grants, I think
that it is a parents responsibility to pay for their college education. I don't think it is fair to
kids to have to carry jobs while going to school and having to borrow loans. The whole point of
college is to learn, to have time to study and participate in extracurricular activities. College
should be a pleasant experience, not a stressful mess. I think students would have a lot better
grades if their parents would indeed pay for the tuition. |

I agree that parents should pay the children college education. It is the responsibility of parents
to provide their children good healthy environment to live, food and best education so that they can
become a useful and responsible members of the society. A child doesn’t have enough skills to earn
money and pay his college dues. What really matters is your teachings to your children. If you have
inculcated good teachings and manners in them then they will appreciate your every effort and they
will take care of you as you take care of them. |

I'm in favor of it with some restrictions. In fact, parents have to pay for the schooling of their
children during their childhood. Later on, if they financed their children in college, then the
children will definitely honor the sacrifices made by parents.
But in this case, sometimes children don't feel that responsibility and due to this, they don't
study properly. It is a problem which should be overcome. If parents finance their children, it will
be more beneficial in the long run, because during education children will not think about other
responsibilities and they'll be able to concentrate on their study more.
My own parents financed my studies until a specific level of education. So I'm in its favor. |

I strongly disagree. Saying that is like saying only the rich should succeed because the key to
success is a good education. If ones parents can not afford a good education how is one to succeed. |

I think the child should pay for some of the tuition, because it helps them to gain a certain amount
of responsibility. |

Parents should all be extremely wealthy too but that's not our reality now is it? |

So if the parents aren't able to finance higher education for their children they just what...don't
go? |

It is fully up to the individual and the families financial state! |

This is not an apt statement to me as I think that being a student of college one should take the
responsibility of his or her own education. This would make them more responsible in their journey
of life. As long they were the student of school they were financed by their parents. But college is
the institution of higher education and they must learn from this time the true value of money in
order to make them survive in long run of life. If they start to manage their own college fee from
this level, they place themselves in the first row of the queue of the interview in the field of
experience. By the help of their own struggle they become more apt choice for the employee searcher
after passing from college. Thus students should finance their own college education. |

I think that the right to a good education should be there for all people and that until a
postgraduate level it should be free.
Too many able children are missing out on the right and choice of a higher education because of the
present system in the UK.
Things are somewhat better in Scotland than in the rest of the UK because grant aid is available.
Not all parents can afford to send their children to college or university as the present system
provides so little free financial help.
The student loan system places a terrible burden on young people.
I was lucky enough, many years ago to study to a postgraduate level with full grants and I
appreciate that very much and try to put back into society as much as I can as do most students,
once they have graduated. We eventually pay back much more than we have taken.
Of course, very wealthy parents should be expected to contribute but if they are not willing, then a
young person should be able to apply for grants in their own right.
The education in our universities is much poorer than it was in the past. Higher fees have also
meant less teaching time given to students. Higher education is now a money making institution.
Modula degrees are ,often ,not worth the paper they are written on.
It would do only good to return to our old, grant aid traditional system where more youngsters at
least had a chance of a good education. |
