I agree, and this is what I expect. It would greatly increase his chances of a win. |

Obama and Edwards would make good running mates. During the Democratic debates, the two were
relatively cordial with each other and both tended to trumpet "change" as their nebulous catchword
of the day. They also attacked Hillary Clinton together in the New Hampshire debates, using the
"innocence" over "experience" card.
Yet most important is the fact that Edwards can bring in supporters that Obama has not been able to
reach thus far. Edwards is traditionally strong among working-class and lower middle-class voters,
while Obama has won over college educated, upper-class Americans, urbanites and university students.
In order to win the presidency in November, Obama must increase his support among blue collar
workers and lower middle-class democrats, especially in the large states. Failing this, John McCain
will win the election. Recruiting Edwards is Obama's best hope for success. |
