Very true. The majority of teenagers don't think about their future, or the good of society, what
they can contribute to the world. They have dumbed themselves down to fit the new 'ideals' shown in
today's mindless, meaningless entertainment world.
Today, many people, particularly teenagers, feel that they are entitled. They expect that everything
in life will be handed to them without any effort, thus they don't put any effort into life. I find
that most teenagers today find intellectual pursuits to be frivilous, and they would rather sit on
tumbr all day looking at memes than use their brains, improve themselves or help others. There is no
desire for self-improvement anymore. I can't even remember the last time I had an intellectual
discussion or debate with someone in my own age group (though technically I'm not considered a
teenager anymore). No one wants to think, they want to party 24/7.
Now, I'm not saying that people shouldn't be able to enjoy themselves. I believe that as long as it
isn't harming anyone, people should be able to amuse themselves however they please. But, today's
teenagers seem to only be concerned with whose older sibling is bringing the booze this weekend, or
how much pot they can buy today. It's actually kind of tragic. |
