Of course we mock you - you'd mock someone if they said 'I believe in Dragons, because I have faith
in them. Nothing anyone says to me will make me change my mind, because I have faith.'
From our point of view you are just as foolish or misguided as the dragon-believers out there. |

Of course they do! From a non-religious perspective, christianity seems as ridiculous as voodoo
seems to christians.
By the way, I disagree with the explanation but i had to vote on this side anyway because of the way
the resolution is stated. |

This is true, "bible bashers" rings a bell |

Actually, it depends on the type of person. In most cases, atheists will mock Christians because
they think its stupid to believe in God and they don't like Christians or something, but it just
depends on who you are. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Not all of course, but here are some statement, in which I shall leave anonymous, that further
this:
"Atheists have the job of laughing at you"
"Maybe intolerant religious-to-the-max people like you just can't appreciate comedy."
"I have asked this to a few of them without getting an answer. I guess they are still adding up
the ages of people in the Bible."
"requiring mindless faith"
"because they are hypocrites who do not really practise what they claim to believe".
"The only reason people believe in any religion is because they are weak-minded and are lost
without a simple explanation to explain everything."
Excuse me if this is any way abusive, but I doubt it especially with the prior ahead. |
| |
|
| |
|

Yep, they do. Since they can not understand in their simple minds the concept of faith, they have
to attack it whenever they can.
The awesome part is, we know the joy of having faith in something bigger than ourselves or our
understanding and know that not everything has to be proven to be believed. And, although your
debate is just a statement, look how many of those without faith feel attacked by your statement. |

I do not think that non-Christians in general mock Christians, but many atheists certainly do. One
can argue that this type of mockery may not always be surprising, especially if Christians defend
their faith in an infantile manner.
Nevertheless, atheists also risk underestimating the intelligence of Christians, which places them
at a disadvantage in some debates. Last year, Carleton University hosted a debate entitled "Does God
Exist," between Reverend Joe Boot, of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, and Dr. John Shook, a
Senior Research Fellow who represented the atheist side. Although Boot's performance was far from
stellar (in fact some of his arguments seemed rather weak) it very much appeared as though he was
better prepared for the debate than Dr. Shook had anticipated. As such, Shook under-performed while
Boot, who had been underestimated, found it much easier to impress the crowd and surprise his
opponent. The moral of the story is that if atheists mock and underestimate Christians, they are
actually building them up, because whatever they produce will likely exceed the low expectations. |

By the way....there is plenty of evidence to back up the bible and god. If ppl would take the time
to study it and learn it then they would understand and there would be no way none could believe it.
Most ppl only believe what they are told and most things of science have not been proven. And the
things that have been, who exactly gave these ppl the brains to come up with the things that have
been proven. Obviously god! God allows things to happen and god know that there is going to be a
large number of non christians when its his time to return and take the believers and start the
years of tribulation. The 7 years of tribulation will be another chance but there will still be a
large number of unbelievers following the anti Christ. After the 7 years of tribulation. The lord
will set up his new kingdom on earth and all non believers will be sent to burn in hell for
eternity. Signs have already been fulfilling themselves for years now. There is no since to keep
arguing with such hard headed ppl. Ppl are going to believe what they want to believe no matter
what. And I'm tired of being mocked or put down for what I believe. Your time will come and you'll
see who is right in the end. If Christians are wrong, what will happen to them?? Absolutely nothing.
But if christians are right, what will happen to nonchristians?? |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Totally, and our beliefs aren't absurd.
Not all of us are hypocrites, only the ones who are "fence riders"
they are a 'Christian' at church, but at school, and in life, they are just another person.
The true Christians will walk what they talk. |

I agree with Snipex. We mock non-Christians. Why? Because they are missing out on the abundant life
God has in store for them. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Well, Christians mock non-Christians. Not to mention soliciting people at their homes. It goes both
ways. They antagonize each other constantly. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I am non- christian but I don't mock Christians. My belief is to be respectful of other religions.
Only hate is born of mockery. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I mock Christians because they are hypocritical. They believe that they should be tolerant towards
others, correct? Then why are they always bashing Gays, Jews, and Muslims? |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
More like the mockers of Christianity are unsure of their non-belief.
OK, we should start mocking you then. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
If there was (who) in front of mock it would be a somewhat acceptable assumption. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
No no no, you’ve got it all wrong we don’t mock you out of jealousy we mock you because we find
you foolish. Not all Christians mind you, just the loud whiney ones who complain about many things
that aren’t their business. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
That's an ignorant statement. You can't say EVERYONE. I don't. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
A huge generalization. There is no evidence for that whatsoever.
Another sweeping statement you made was that Christians are happier than others. Again, if you're
going to make such a ridiculous statement, you need to provide evidence. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Its the other way around. Christians tell everyone that they are going to hell and burn for ever
only to make themselves feel good about themselves. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I don't agree with the comment that christians are happier people. I am atheist and incessantly
happy with my life and beliefs. When I die, i don't care that i will just fade and decompose,
because i take every opportunity to do what i want in THIS life. I find that some Christians deny
themselves what they want for fear of not getting into Heaven.
However, I feel that Christians mock atheists with their ridiculous claims of tangible proof that
God exists, we are merely returning the favour. Besides, cutting remarks and retorts are all part of
a good debate. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
The only reason there is any mocking is because people follow their faith blindly without
questioning anything which is beyond ridiculous. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I don't mock Christians, I simply have issues with people who answer every argument with blind
faith, and faith which prevents the use of basic logic. There really isn't a crime in questioning
your beliefs.
I'm not a Christian, and i am ecstatic about my life and faith. If i were a Christian, I'd be very
unhappy. Period.
I bet the Christians who think that all Christians are happy people, and non-believers mock because
they have personal issues have never experienced life outside Christianity, and have been
brainwashed since birth. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I didn’t mock your faith Cassie9851, I mocked your lack of knowledge concerning certain subjects
such as evolution. I also mocked your understanding of common knowledge when you attempted to claim
that males have one less rib than females, which is not true. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
No, there's no mocking involved. It's bizarre that theists (and this goes for Christians and
non-Christians alike) seem to think that any criticism of their belief systems is a personal attack
on themselves. They are unable to separate who they are from what they believe.
That's very unhealthy. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Not all atheists are bad and neither are all Christians. You get mockery from both sides and as such
some people from both sides can be unsure of themselves. I don't see how Christians would be any
happier than anyone else. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I mock some Christians on this site because they make absurd comments and show alarming ignorance.
The comments made by 90% of Christians on here are so ridiculous. We try to reason and discuss but
get nowhere. I and others are faced with two options. Let it get to us and tear our hair out or
take the micky. I usually opt for the latter. |

Mockery is what is done to garbage that people don't take seriously.
Derision and revealing facts is what is done to garbage that people do take seriously, like
religion.
"Unsure of our own faith"? If you were so sure of YOUR filth - sorry, faith - You wouldn't
be afraid of those who question it. That the alleged existence of your "god" is threatened by the
words of even one person shows how empty your belief system is. |

I think there is insecurity on both sides. I think that for some atheists science is a jealous god,
and others are a bit insecure of their own convictions so they have a need to constantly assert it
by insulting and demeaning Christians. I don't fully understand why Muslims are avoided in their
attacks other than political correctness.
On the other hand, i can only understand the Christians on this site as being insecure in their
faith. They get upset when they are confronted with the lack of evidence of the existence of God.
To need proof and to be threatened by the lack of proof is weak faith. If you are in great need of
understanding how science and faith can be understood in their respective corners and even coexist
check out David Berlinski. Do a search of his name and check out some of his books. |

No. Non-Christians mock christians because their beliefs are absurd; because they are hypocrites who
do not really practise what they claim to believe; because they insist on pushing their beliefs in
everyone else's face; because their beliefs are strongly associated with unenlightened and dangerous
political views; because they fear that the little patch of enlightenment which humanity has managed
to carve out for itself is in danger of being swamped by darkness and unreason; because they feel
sorry for children who have been brainwashed into a belief system by their parents before they were
old enough to think for themselves; and, most of all, because there are too many of them. |
