Nobody Knows Anything
Prove that you know something, I bet that you cannot as everything you think you know is based upon something else.

No, noone KNOWS anything, you can only believe, you can't know the world exists if you haven't seen it and even then - how can you prove it isn't an illusion?

Have any of you said anything that is not based on your imaginary knowledge that you have thought that you gained during this life

Like I wrote at the beginning: all of us in our infancy had our consciousness form spontaneously, nobody taught us that, nobody could, nobody knows how to teach consciousness (certainly nobody you'll meet in cyber-space) - we were conscious of our world & ourselves before we could be communicated to - we knew stuff then that we cannot remember now

I know that if you stop at Hume's philosophies and don't start making useful assumptions you won't get much done in life.

I heard something about a very successful business man who was looking to employ someone to run one of his businesses. He was watching TV one night, and there was this guy who answered every question on a top quizz show. His PA said why don't you employ him he knows everything. The successful business man said " what and pay him 1000 thousand dollars a year. His head is full of facts, I could pop down to the library and look up what he knows for free, I need someone with an open mind who can create and invent new methods." Guess you need an empty head to create! Sometimes you are better off knowing nothing.

But how can you tell that it isn't that you've been in a hypnotic state to make you think that, or that people are lying to you?

Nath, I'll prove something for you....I'll even prove something from the Bible. There is a verse in proverbs that says " a wringing of the nose will surely bring forth blood" Let me or one of your friends have a good hold and wringing of your nose, and I'm SURE you will have ALL the proof you will ever need. And learn that something in the Bible is true at the same time...

Do all the comments you write, refer to God?? (with ref. to a few of your comments I have read).
Not to be rude but I was just wondering if you have your own ideas on some things.

It is crazy to even think that a human knows nothing. Regardless of if it is based on something else or not, if you can recite it from memory, or physically do it, then you evidently know it. You have to learn everything from something, otherwise, you would not be able to learn. However, humans know too much. This is why the world continues to advance in technology, medicine, education, and all other facets of life...because humans know something as a result of their learning. Anyone who makes an effort to learn something, knows something. So, it is sort of lame for you to even think everyone knows nothing. It is true that some of us are way more intelligent than others, but that is because some of us are smart enough to learn and make efforts to do so, while others just spend their time complaining about intelligent people and they never do anything to make themselves smarter. There are even some people who think that being dumb makes them look good...regardless, they still know something. It may not be much, but they know something.

I'm not sure if this is asking if anyone is capable of an original thought, or an independent thought. Independent thought, a thought that is not the product of another thought, or an external or internal stimulus is not possible. It will always be connected to something. If you are asking whether we are able to compose an original thought, one that we arrive at as a result of a formulaic process, and not a prescribed result, there are a couple of people that can still do this.

While I could agree with the statement, as people learn primarily from knowledge handed to them on a platter in schools, I cant agree with the statement on the fact that people do know things through practical investigation which is not based on something else.

And I think I could say that I know licking a 9 volt bettery will shock your tongue

Consciousness forms spontaneously in the mind of a infant, free of pre-conceived intellect

So what does that prove, that you "think" that an infant has unconcious thought processes based on knowledge which you and other people believe.
