No Person Under The Age Of 21 Should Be Allowed Write Access To The Internet.
The internet has been destroyed by youth, Europeans, and Google. It's time for this madness to stop. I can't even do a simple internet search for shoes without some amount of time weeding out the drivel from myspace, anti-American collectivist crud, and google link-through sites. If this doesn't work, then next are the Europeans and Google.

All right let's get rid of all youths off the internet.
I wonder what would happen
1. Myspace would crash
2. Youtube would crash
3. Internet security would go down since everyone's an adult.
4. The cost for using the internet would skyrocket because the major "Free Sites" that competed with the Paid sites will be out of business.
5. Teenage pregnancy would skyrocket since they are not meeting online but in the bedrooms.
6. Child abduction would skyrocket since more kids would be out in the streets and parks playing unprotected while "adults" surfed the net.

I agree with you but one could also look the other way on a couple of your points. For number five, teenage pregnancies may go up, but at least young people would meet in person instead of having bogus online relationships. And for number six, there is a slight possibility that child abduction would go up slightly, but our children would be spending their time getting exercise and fresh air, instead of being cooped up in a basement playing on the internet. I'm not yet considered an adult, and what the debate heading proposes sounds completely absurd to me, so in turn I agree with you, just not fully 100%. And I think you accidentally put your argument on the wrong side.

I can't think of one good reason for any young person to have access.

I'm 14, and I've had internet for 4 years, and I find it super easy to use. On this site, some people refer to me as a genius, maybe not, but if I'm smarter than someone older than 21, either they're stupid, or I'm a living Einstein. Now, tell me. Which one is more likely. But don't worry, my cat's retarded too and we still love her. :)

We have the same rights on the internet as any adult because most of the sites are made for kids and teens not adults. And we dont complain when you adults decide to play video games

Iam a teenageer and just because there are some idiots out there that think its so cool to post viruses on the internet it does not mean that all teenagers should be banned from the internet where they can be educated.

I think that is wrong. Every computer can have programs to block pages of certain material so there is no need to stop them from using the internet.

Everyone has the right to use the Internet no matter what age they are and whether or not you think what you are trying to do is more important.

Everyone deserves unlimited access to the Internet. It shouldn't be a market to sell the right to use the Internet.

No. Just no.

How would they determine whether the user was under 21?

Why 21? Why not 18, where it is legal in the UK to buy alcohol, or 16, in the US where it is legal to drive, or no limit at all? Is the Internet a worse thing than alcohol or cigarettes? Is the Internet more dangerous than driving?

And you can go to hell, Americans ruin the Internet for the rest of the world, not the other way around.

This is ridiculous!

I know some teenagers get loads of viruses and things from the Internet; maybe even watch rude videos. But that doesn't mean the Internet is a bad thing.

Speaking as a teenager myself, I love the Internet. It allows me to speak to my friends, meet new people, and express my views on websites like this!

Europeans!? Are you going to blame a whole land mass for your inconvenience on finding some comfortable foot apparel?

I smell a Internet Nazi, why don't you set up your own superior method of finding quick, free information that's free of us 'impurities that are a blot on YOUR Internet'?

Its a racist comment against Europeans.:-(
As a person of 100% Northern-European bloodlines, even though born American, I protest.
This post of debate by wrldmgg69 is Internet-Nazism.
I both proud to be an American, and I am proud of my European blood.
So there!

The Internet has provided numerous positive things. School research, entertainment, and the list goes on. I have an idea, let's take away your Internet service. That way, you can't leave ridiculous comments on this website. And are you racist against the Europeans? All Americans have some sort of a heritage with Europeans. It's just a matter of how far back you have to go in time to find out where your family comes from.

Every human being on this planet has the right to access the information help by the internet. To go against this and ban the internet would cause great problems and probably lead to a collapse in our society's social structure.

As both a European and a youth i find your argument offensive. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want on the Internet it is called freedom of expression etc;
What gives you Americans the right to get so high and mighty, saying that we have wrecked the Internet. If anything, America has wrecked the Internet. As you Americans would say

I disagree with this debate. Everyone should have equal access to the Internet. However, there should be some banning on particular sites that people less than 21 years of age visit. Some sites are strictly for those over 21, but banning everyone under 21 from posting and using the Internet is crazy. Many people under 21 are students and use the Internet as form of learning and for research. Their input is valuable. I agree that many do post stupid things, but that is because they are immature. Just overlook it. Learn to use the Internet. Learn to distinguish between adult entered content and juvenile content. It is not hard. No. I do not believe banning those under 21 from the Internet is a good idea. However, your comment about banning Europeans from the Internet is racist. You should be ashamed to even think of banning someone from the Internet based on their race. Maybe you should be banned.

Wow I could go on a rant here... I understand where you're coming from- some kids aren't mature enough to post, while others need to be kept off for their safety. However, many other kids are very knowledgeable in other topics and areas- they should have all rights to post.

Well, it's obviously impossible to restrict who can post content to the Internet, since there is no government authority that proposes to regulate this anywhere in the Western world. I agree that mountains of poorly-written, inaccurate and fanciful material is posted throughout the World Wide Web by looney far right and left groups and many others, of course. Yet with the rise in blogging, photo and video sharing sites, such as Flickr and YouTube, we should all prepare ourselves for much more of this material.

Government regulation, however, is not the way to go and we can't single out those under 21 and ban them from posting. In fact, a 20 year old may very well be more qualified to write on a specific topic than a 40 year old with no writing or analytical skills; and sadly, there are plenty of them as well.

Lol. Maybe you Americans should do what the Beijing government is trying to do and set up your own special restricted version of the internet. After you've got your electronic blinkers on, you won't have to be bothered by all those anti-American crazies out there who object to you invading countries and killing innocent people for no reason.

Oh, and in case you've forgotten, it was one of those Europeans, Tim Berners-Lee, at one of those collectivist government projects, the CERN scientific laboratory in Switzerland, who developed the World Wide Web in the first place. If you stick to Telnet and FTP you can probably avoid most of the stuff you object to. Either that or try AOL. AOL was designed for people like you.
