No One Is Good Compared To The Standard Of The Torah.
Who in the world wants to hear the truth that they are not good enough to earn salvation? The world which is passing away is full of people who think they are good enough to go to heaven or just good. Our standards are low. To be good, according to the Bible, is to be, well, perfect. Only one person is: Yahshua. Only through him can we be considered good by his substitutional work on the cross.

The word good comes from the word God.

 I believe he said that because he was not yet completely proven to be good since he had not yet taken the cup of suffering and death prepared for him. When he passed that trial, he was proven to be good. I'm guessing that's why.

I doubt the word good comes from the word god.
