Its funny when people try to apply modern laws, morals and ethics to ancient ones. Given the fact
that during that time most women did not live beyond 25 years old. In the Roman empire the average
age for women was about 24 years old. And we are talking a period before the Roman empire.
Mortality rate for women having children were over 50 percent.
So to try to apply modern understanding where the average age for people is in their 60's to a
period in history were the average age is in the mid 20's do you actually expect women to wait until
they are 18 to decide to marry or have a child?
Completely unrealistic and you are historically misinformed and miseducated.
Even in the state of Georgia the legal age of marring is 15 years old. This is modern times. |
