Most People On This Website Don't Know What They Are Talking About When It Comes To The Bible And Christianity
I just want to know what everyone else thinks about this, because the comments and posts that I have read so far shows that almost nobody knows what they are talking about when they try to debunk the Bible.

I am sure you are right pumkin.
Unless you take the whole thing in one shot you are not going to begin to find the true meaning of it.
Anybody can find some little bit to try to bolster their own thoughts about the Bible.
Join a group and discuss the Bible if you don't agree with it.
Or join a group. But don't leave bits out because

If Ecclisastics is an example on being disillusioned? Have you read the start?
Moses would have been locked up in this day and age, the man talked to God. So did David Ike. And possibly Charles Manson.
It is a sure sign, when God talks to you, you are doing wrong.
George Bush being another example. Hopefully never Messianic.
I don't think people set out to debunk the bible, it just happens when you read it.

Exactly. Even the Christians have no idea what they are talking about. People pick and choose verses then yell "Look at me! I just refuted 2000 years of history!" It's pathetic.

I agree. However, keep in mind that half, at least, of the people who fit under that category you’ve mentioned within your topic’s heading are Christians themselves.

I do realize that, and that is a very sad thing to admit to, being a Christian myself. I do try to make sure that I know what I am talking about before debating with someone, and even then I usually avoid debate, because it typically winds up moving in circles.

Most people who don't know what they're talking about are Christians. They really don't have a clue what the Bible actually says, they operate off what they heard from the pulpit or what they wish the Bible said, or pick and choose which passages they want to follow. There isn't a person alive who actually follows the Bible to the letter.

Well said, but there are also a lot of non-Christians who like to criticize the Bible, but have never read it themselves.

A lot of people I'm sure know what they are talking about, but people who may be arguing against them was no clue. Ill admit I've tried arguing in the "god" debate and failed.

Actually, i have found many Christians on this site to be woefully ignorant of the bible. One Christian was reeling against circumcision, without any knowledge of the covenant in the old testament. I have found that there is a set number of pieces of the bible that fundamentalists are great at quoting; convenient parts to suit them.

I've also found a number of Athiests who use only the parts of the Bible that suit them. Oh yeah! That's why it's called a debate!

I might have agreed with you but you spoilt it at the end by limiting it to people who debunk the Bible. Many of those on the opposite side have no idea either. One of the people, on here, who knows more about the bible than most is Cephus and he is a big debunker.

I guess I do really agree with the main title but who cares about the percentage stats.

When you say something like, "most people" I think that is a pretty bold statement and probably something you know nothing about either. You have no idea what most people here know about or don't know about.

Ok, then let me correct myself on that point. It has been in my experience that most people who try to debate the Bible do not even know what they are talking about. My apologies for any misunderstandings.

I have looked at a lot of the comments posted on this website, and there are a lot of comments posted that shows that the person can't possibly know what he/she is talking about.
