More Prisoners Should Be Executed To Reduce Prison Overcrowding
More prisoners should be executed to reduce prison overcrowding. It costs over $24,000 dollars a year to keep someone in prison and prisons are overcrowded and expensive to run, as only 1 in 8 crimes are actually solved, if all crimes were solved and everybody was convicted we actually need 7 TIMES more prisons than present. More prisoners should be executed to reduce prison overcrowding.
But if they execute a person they are helping the families get some kind of reconciliation and those
families need that if they lose a family member to that person
I think that every prisoner in there that is there for murder or rape should definitely be up for
the death penalty. No appeals or anything like that should be considered. They should quicken the
time it takes to get rid of them also. They keep inmates on death row for way too long of a period.
I would give them a month tops and be done with it. There is no reason we should have to pay for
these idiots to live in confinement and work out and eat decent meals and watch cable.
For your information it is more costly for an execution than it is to house a prisoner. The
terrible crimes that prisoners have done have ruined many lives of the victims family and loved ones
and of course victims losing their lives but the fact is executing a convicted prisoner is murder.
The statistics show that executions don't reduce the numbers of murders in those states. What
execution does is cause more grief to families and friends of the prisoner. It opens up a horrible
past for the friends and families of the victim all over again and even though many people think it
is closure, I'm sure in many cases its not. Life without parole is the cruelest form of punishment
that we can give these people. Some prisoners would even prefer execution compared to the
realisation that they will never ever get out. That to me is substantial punishment. I have heard
first hand what it is like on death row. It is all the horrors we could ever possibly imagine it
is. Even worse. Its day to day just surviving in there. There is enough violence in this world.
We don't need the law to kill as well. I can honestly say that after 15 or 20 years if I was
notified to be invited to the execution of the man or woman who murdered a family member of mine, I
would definitely not be attending. I would hate all that sadness and grief to revisit me.
The problem isn't the number of prisoners in the system, but the number entering it. Spend that
$24,000 on education, vocational training and social services so we'll keep them out of prison.
