Yes he should be respected for all the excellent groundbreaking stuff he did. Some of his early
music was brilliant and his dancing original and superb. Unfortunately he was a fruitloop too but I
forgive him for that as his life was crazy from an early age.
I disagree though that he is a loss to the music industry because talent wise he died 25 years ago.
Bob Marley was a loss, John Lennon was a loss because you wonder what else we have missed out on due
to their early deaths. The same cannot be said of Jacko who had nothing left to offer apart from a
sad spiral of madness. |

Michael.
Of course he should be respected: He was an absolute genius in a lot of ways and his legacy won't be
forgotten, whether his critics like this or not. As for the allegations, there will ALWAYS be
dispute on them, unfortunately. Personally I'm in 100% belief that MJ is entirely innocent. He
simply fell victim to a bunch of pathetic money-grabbing trolls.
King of pop forever |

I'll agree some aspects of his life deserve respect. He definitely has a legacy. What I disagree
with is that being an "icon" somehow entitles one to respect. Hitler was a huge icon to many of his
followers so does that mean we must respect him?
On the one hand what I respect about MJ is A) His music and B) His charity. On the other hand I
still disrespect A) The whole pedophilia cloud that followed him. Even if it weren't true (I
personally wouldn't be surprised if it was) he still repeatedly did stupid unnecessary behaviors
with underage boys which he had to know could feed the accusations. B) Self mutilation until his
face was falling off and he appeared to actually switch races. C) A chain of failed marriages and
children from mysterious origins which couldn't have been a healthy family environment. D)
Apparently drug abuse. And E) Repeatedly not paying his bills.
When I weigh those two hands the disrespect hand weighs more to me. But yes I still respect his
music and charity. |
