Metallica is not a screamo band so it should not be considered metal. They might yell, but they don't scream

I really don't c how they can be metal i agree with the guy below they are more like hard rock than metal

 most bands are horribly mis-labeled. on itunes Judas priest comes up as pop.

Metallica refinded metal frankly! It's not defined by screaming vocals.

Besides, the screaming vocal is from hardcore punk! That's why METALCORE has screaming vocals because it is METAL and HARDCORE.

True what jsg said. I take SOAD to be hard rock. Not that it really matters or the difference is that big. Screamo is not metal. Screamo is where some moron yells into a microphone. Got it? And there are so many blends of music that are coming out. But only so many instruments to make so many sounds.

Metallica is metal. But maybe more classic metal compared new junk metal.

 it depends on the scream. screamo puke s**t? god no. but if you listen to Rob Halford from Judas priest, now THATS metal.not to say metallica isn't. i love them both.
