| Merlot Is An Over-rated Red Wine |
| Not that Merlot is bad (it can be bad, it can also be very good) it's just the characteristics of it do not match the widespread popularity of it. In general it is a milder red with limited tannins. There are plenty of other mild or non-tannic reds not nearly as well known. And there's good reason Merlot is usually blended in Bordeaux, because by itself as a pure varietal it's usually a little lacking. Sure, it can make outstanding wine, it's not that I don't respect it, it's just over-rated. |

I only had it once or twice, and I honestly didn't care for it. It really didn't stretch away from
the ordinary taste of regular wine.
Wrong Side. |
