McShame Tried To Keep The MIA Records Secret Because He Knew If The Truth Came Out About What He Had Done In The Camp His Career Would Be Over
When the families of missing soldiers were campaigning for disclosure of their records, McShame did everything he could to oppose them. He knew that if all POW records became public, the people would find out that he was a traitor, not a war hero.
