Yes. Because for similar prices, there is better quality food. Burger King tastes better but didn't
advertise as much.
Did you know 7-Up tasted better than sprite(according to many taste tests). But Sprite's NBA
advertising etc got Sprite a bigger name? 7-Up used to win the taste tests. But now 7-Up changed
their product to make it 'like Sprite' in hopes of its sales. It now tastes like cheap Mountain Dew.
I never knew they changed formulations of 7-up. It makes sense though because it does not taste the way it did when I was a kid and I always preferred it to Sprite...less sweet. Now, it makes sense.
Not that I'm a fan of the poor quality food, but McDonald's itself doesn't do anything wrong. It
provides jobs and donates money to charity. If anyone is fat as a result of their food, then it is
the person's fault. They should not have eaten so much, and they would have stayed slim.
Good: They provide good breakfast food. They cook meals for you. They offer competitive prices.
Harm: None
The harm that is supposedly done by McDonald's is actually done by their customers' decision to
constantly eat there. Don't blame McDonald's, blame the customers.
Over the years McDonalds has changed it's menu and practices to fit demand, stay ahead and lead by
example. I just don't know why people who think they can do a better job don't put their money
where their mouths are.
Most of the fast food chains have altered their menus to keep up with demand. Burger King offers veggie burgers and most places do offer salads and healthier alternatives to the sandwiches and fries. I think that moderation is the key though. There is nothing wrong with eating a Whopper meal once in a while. It is when people eat that food on a daily basis that they face a negative impact on their health.
