| Being shot down from your plane doesn't make you a war hero. It means you're either unlucky or incompetent. Neither qualifies as heroism. America has an unheathy tendency to celebrate the most unlucky or incompetent of its military professionals as heroes. To be a true hero you need to show superior skill or bravery. McCain has done neither. He is as phony as a three-dollar bill. |

Well what is a hero? By greek definition: Someone who embodies the characteristics of their society
but has one major flaw that leads to their destruction. Is mccain alive? Ok then he's not a hero
yet. But that's purely by greek definition.
In my opinion they're all idiots for giving up their lives to support a country that uses them to
line their own pockets. We are but slaves to our government. What's the common belief? I must yes
must work to live a happy life. What is work? Supporting the government and economy in most cases.
My life doesn't matter as long as the government survives. |

Senator McAncient is NO war hero. Everything about his publicly acknowledged military record is
cherry-picked and white-washed as a result of of the legacy inherited from his family. He very
likely is a Manchurian Candidate, though admittedly something went awry in the traing of the 'angry'
part of his brain. He has very little self control, as he exhibited by calling his wife Cindy a
"c*nt," in front of reporters.
Perhaps it was the shortcomings of his "training" which has kept him from being more successful in
his presidential bids, present and past. |

McCain's medals were not for anything he did in combat. In fact, he spent less than 20 hours in
combat in total. All of his medals were for the bravery he supposedly displayed while a prisoner of
war. These medals were awarded routinely to prisoners of war when they were repatriated. The
citations state that he heroically resisted torture. Yet there are no witnesses to this supposed
torture, and by McCain's own admission in a book he wrote about his experiences, he actually
volunteered to give militarily significant information to his captors in return for hospital
treatment. McCain even signed a goofy confession, declaring himself to have been a "black devil in
the sky" or some such nonsense.
The only significant question in relation to McCain's shoot down is whether it was the result of
misfortune or incompetence. To answer that, you just need to look at his career as a military
aviator as a whole. He lost FIVE planes over the course of his career. Any normal pilot who lost
planes like McCain did would have been kicked from the service. But McCain's father was an admiral,
so he got away with it. McCain was an incompetent pilot, not a war hero. |

I believe that Sen. John McCain is a fine man, although I don't agree with him politically. War
hero? No. The Congressional Medal of Honor, The Silver Star, The Navy Cross are national recognition
of a war hero. Read the citations that accompany these medals. I also don't believe that military
service to your country qualifies that person for public office. McCain cites his experience as
commanding officer in the Navy. That doesn't relate to the business world where you have to generate
the finances to operate your company. He was working with tax money ... Big difference. |
