Haha! Seriously, some don't even know what debate means and some don't know what their talking
about. They think it is just stating opinions.
Which is true but its stating a point. |

True debates do not occur here. A lot of the debates on here are just facts with people trying to
get other people's opinions. However, if people want to be immature and not respond, that is there
problem. There are many topics to debate about. If you don't like one, move on! |

I agree with you, but it isn't going to happen. True debates do not occur here. It is more about
grandstanding and promoting one's personal views, which is really not part of a real debate.
Personal views are irrelevant, and there is actually a point system where someone can win. You
never make derogatory comments about your opponent, as that is considered bad form. You can attack
the sources that are chosen, but not the person in the debate. There are also judges that keep the
structure of the debate in tact. No this is nothing like a real debate. I have never seen a true
resolution stated properly. If you go on Quoteland, they actually have structured debates, however
the activity is slow, and far less dynamic. |

I agree. The mark of a good debater is the ability to assume either affirmative or negative roles in
any given debate, regardless of any predispositions to one viewpoint. |

See ibanex_87 first FOR comment.
Ibanex_87 knows how to debate. I agree with Ibanex. This means I know how to debate.
Whether we debate like we know we should...
That's another debate. |
