Many Corporations Are Guilty Of What I Have Termed, "Ageist Cleansing"
It makes no sense to get rid of older, loyal employees, who do a fabulous job and know all the ropes and can give you intelligent answers to all your questions and to replace them with young kids who look at you blankly and answer every question with a slack-jawed, "I dunno." This is what they did where I work. It just baffles me.

There is a misconception that elderly people lose mental capacity at the age of about 55, this is way too early. The vast majority of people in a non-manual job don't lose performance until they are more like 70 or even older. Age Cleansing doesn't help anyone, not even the firm that thinks it is being harsh but clever.

 So you are agreeing with my debate that the practice is disagreeable. I coined the term ageist cleansing. I wanted it to seem as reprehensible and damaging as ethnic cleansing.
