Mac's Are Better Than PC's
Well we all know they are, but Mac lovers lets try and get as many reasons as possible in the responses and blow away the PC's!

1.PC=VIRUS
2.PC=spyware
3.PC=expensive software charged monthly to tell you that you have a virus and can't do anything about it.
4.PC=Slower by the minute
5.PC=Dead in the second year you use it. (basically born with cancer)
6.PC=so many dents you will put in it from frustration
7.Watching some idiot trying to fix the son bich =Priceless

Mac fellat...uh, worshippers can't answer three questions about their machines:

1) Name a company, not approved and licensed by Apple, that makes third-party software or hardware in any great amount.

2) Name a piece of software from the first Macintosh that will run on OS/X. Scratch that - name a piece of software may for OS7 that will run on your new Mac.

3) Name the internal parts of your computer and then take it apart and repair it yourself.

You'll fail on all three. Macintoshes are not computers, they are appliances used by people who don't know any better, whether that ignorance is deliberate or accidental.

As for your ignorance and lies:

I don't get viruses because I use an up to date checker, I use a secure browser, which there isn't one for a Mac, and I use software from trusted sites.

Spyware? You're using a computer that has few or no third party makers; you're completely dependent upon Apple, which includes them having your private information. No maker of any parts has mine.

Free AV is free, as are programs like Open Office and many others equal to commercial programs.

Both run on Intel chips, so to call PCs "slower" displays your ignorance.

Dead? PCs can be upgraded with parts. A Mac cannot. Again, you display your ignorance.

Frustration is the response of the ignorant, like yourself. The knowledgeable solve problems and have the patience to do it. You aren't frustrated by Macintoshes because you ignorantly and obediently buy the next line of product like a sucker would.

I'm really in the middle on this one, but I'm going with macs, for their great build quality, security, and their amazing bundled software. I love PC's too, for their graphics, and support from so many companies.

Actually PC is easier to use because we have thenice right click button. It's actually not fast depended on your OS and your RAM. You can get a PC from HP that looks way better than a MAC.

So.... Not alot of programs support MACs because the OS is way too difficult to understand. It takes 3 times as much effort in programming than a regular PC. MAC's fail to even support a lot of programs.

Of course when you can control the hardware and customize the OS to match you get a better user experience. Add innovation, quality, and intuitiveness, and it's no contest. Happy to break the tie!

a regular MAC cost $1,100 and it has 3 GB of RAM and like 160 GB of space, also has a graphics card that is called NVIDIA which is also installed in PC's. MAC Pro has an 8 core processor, but so does the Alienware (From Dell) also has an 8-Core processor.

Macs are better quality, you can do graphics a lot more efficient, pc's can easily get viruses vs macs that can't hardly ever get viruses. But Mac was also the first to come out with the intel chip. But there are games that people say are only are made for pc bull shit go to a mac store and you'll see video games even HALO!!!

MAC is far superior to PC's anytime. Read all the other comments so I won't have to repeat it. The cost factor is no more relevent. The ONLY reason I had, until Booth Camp, was the wider choice of softwares.
It's like comparing a BMW to a Lada...

Macs are far superior. They are incredibly stable compared to PCs and have far fewer problems. I have both at home, and the mac is the preferred choice every time.
Also, my business is 100% macs and any PCs that we've had have always been painful and flaky.

PC's are stable depending on a computer virus software. The only businesses that use MAC's are artistic based things, like record companies, movie companies (like hollywood). Even now Dreamworks uses their animation using HP computers. If you don't really know what RAM is or Processors are then you really don't know what your talking about.

There is no doubt that the Macintosh is far more effective and better than the Window’s PCs. There are lots of positive features that we can get from Mac’s. Likewise, it does not made to be crashed in any time. Its OS is completely UNIX based and this helps it to become largely accepted than that of the Window’s PC’s. For the best results in the field of digitally launched or created music, it serves the best ever service. It is very much compatible to the service for the digital entertainment center like iLife, iMovie, iDVD etc. And what is more apt for today’s world running for the MAC’s is that it has been built for the internet applications like email, iChat, Airport or QuickTime. Most importantly, it is much more long lasting in terms of catering service without any break down which is the real problem for PC’s.

Smiley is so right in many ways. Anyone who has used a PC and then used a MAC is first off confused. Surely everything cannot be this simple, but don't you have to...X,Y, Z. Mac's just work, you take them out of the box and bingo, they work.

What's more Apple seem to be constantly updating them with important software updates, making me feel that they care about keeping the product running long after it has left their shelves.

Apple products are highly reliable. They are easy to use, they do what they say on the tin and they are not difficult to use. The software developed for them functions wonderfully, although Windows programs still suck on Macs.

Macs are better than pc because they are also just cooler. You can take a Mac out of its box and immediately do anything you need. This ranges from writing an email in Mail to writing an essay in Pages, or composing a song using Garageband. Safari is vastly superior to Internet Explorer which is frankly the clunkiest piece of software I've ever used.

Practically all games that come out for the PC come over to Mac and are doing more so because of the popularity of the Mac. Mac technicians are also amazing, they don't talk to you like you are an idiot, they know you love your Mac and that you must be worried about it.

Software is not more expensive and is often cheaper than PC. Professionally, if you are in the creative industries, Mac can power film editing, writing, sound recording and editing, photo editing, magazine design, in fact, if the Mac can't do whatever creative task you want it to, I'd eat my hat.

Macs are growing stronger all the time, they are quick, they are rugged, they last well, they don't crash all the time, software freezes are very very rare and I've only once lost a piece of data and that was my own stupid fault.

Buy a Mac, trash your old PC.

PC is actually better than the MAC. MAC is way too complicated to use and does not support any programs. I got a AMD dual core processor, 8 GB of RAM, 500 GB of Hard drive space, and a NVIDIA Graphics card accelorator. Only for $980!!! That's cheap. My laptop also looks better than MAC. I saw a Macbook Pro that has 3 GB of RAM, 250 GB of Hard drive space, and a NVIDIA graphics card accelrator (Same version as my HP) and a Intel dual core processor for only $1,100?!?!? That's insane! The OS doesn't even support even 75% of all the programs in this world. Even the U.S. Governments uses PC's!! MAC OS isn't even easy to use. It's complicated and you have to do 4 clicks to copy and paste, with PC is only 2 clicks.

PCs Are Better Than Macs

PCs are far more superior to Macs because of many different advantages. Though some people assume that Macs are safer, that is not true. There are many problems in Macs, and they have a confusing interface. In this essay, I will prove to you that PCs are better than Macs.
One thing people might say that PCs is less safe than Macs. That is far from true. A PC has Automatic Updates, which allows it to update for security threats, or tools that can make your PC even better than it was. Now, the only reason because a PC has more viruses than a Mac, is because it would be more sensible to attack an OS with more users rather than an OS with only 8% of the market sales, while the PC gets 90% percent.(as of October 2008). Now, because the Mac users think they do not need antivirus software, they are vulnerable to hackers. At the “PWN2OWN” hacking contest in 2007, a hacker with the name of Dai Zovi, found a QuickTime bug that allowed him to do unauthorized actions on the Mac. Now, we are not saying that PCs do not have bugs too, but we are pointing out that Macs also have vulnerability. In the year of 2007, there has been a research done to find as much vulnerability within the OSs Windows XP, Vista, XP+Vista (bugs that appear in both OSs) and Mac OS X. There appears to have been 34 flaws in XP, 34 in Vista, 44 in XP+Vista, and 243 in the Mac OS X (out of which 234 were highly critical flaws)
The interface for the Mac is incredibly hard to use. For instance, the Menu Bar for the Macs are all on top, while a PC has a Menu Bar for every application. Secondly, It is virtually impossible to try and get from one application from another, because there is no taskbar to get from one application to another. Another problem is the misnamed “Mighty Mouse”. There is only one button on the mouse, and even if you could make the right click the secondary click, it is insensitive as there is only one piece for the top side of the mouse. Windows Vista has the capability to create small pictures of the application in the taskbar so you can see what the app is if the name is not clear. The good thing about Internet Explorer is that it can allow one tab to crash, but the others to still be fully functional. You can use web slices to preview a site before you go into it. Macs cannot even play the simplest games of Windows Vista, like Minesweeper, because it does not support Direct X 9.0.

My last point is that PCs cost cheaper than Macs. You could buy a PC for just $500, while the cheapest Mac is $1100. For every normal person, who isn’t exactly a nerd, an $1100 isn’t exactly what you really need. The only reason that you would want a Mac is how good it looks. But that’s not what most people look in a computer. People would rather see how good the computer actually is. Beauty is only skin-deep.
These are just a few reasons why PCs are better than Macs. If you research even deeper than I have, then you might also find some significant details on why PCs are better than Macs. If you would like to buy a computer, I suggest you buy a PC. There are more people buying PCs for a reason. With all the bugs and inaccessibility, I don’t think I’ll ever use a Mac.

I would disagree that Macs are better than PCs. For starters, PCs are generally cheaper and easier to configure and build. Also, there is much more compatible software for PCs than Macs. Granted, you can buy an emulator for the Mac which allows Mac users to open .exe files and other PC files, but if you're going to go that far, you might as well just get a PC.

Personally, I dislike Macs because they are so simple they are insulting to me. I love my PC because there are In's and Out's that I fully understand and can take advantage of but with a Mac, I feel like there isn't much I can do with the computer in terms of tweaking the system.

PC's are better for 2 main reasons. For one macs are EXTREMELY expensive usually over 1k. Also, for what you pay for you get MUCH more with PC's (go ahead tell me i'm wrong, I'll show you examples) Secondly, PC's can be upgraded. I just upgraded my PC for about $200, it used to not be able to play Crysis, now it can play it on MAX w/ DX10. With a mac you will be buying another $1-3k monster.

The macs in my school district crash all the time. Whenever we have to do presentations they freeze in power point if we are using a mac. Anytime we do presentations we dread having to use the mac laptops. We would all rather use the PC lab which was taking out this yr. And all we have is macs. The macs crash at least once every week.

What you buy is what you get. You can't mod the computer, it's closed source, no games for it. Linux being my weapon of choice yet I realise Windows is more than satisfactory. Windows is a lot better than Mac, offering a lot more creativity. The only thing Apple have done right is the iPod.

For a more concise answer, I would have to say it depends. I understand that Macs can run Windows as well as OSX, however, if you aren’t going to do a lot of video editing, music editing, and graphic designing, you should probably just save yourself the money and get a PC. I also feel, although this is just my opinion, PCs are better for businesses for compatibility issues. As of now, though, Mac’s operating system is better than Windows Vista. One more point I want to make really quick is that PCs are better for gaming for the fact that if you don’t get Windows with your Mac, you will be very limited to games. Also, PCs are better for upgrades do to the fact that you can have a must more vast selection of components and for a much better price. As of now, I am using Windows XP and I’m happy with it. But the way Apple is going, it might be a good thing to learn how to use a Mac too.

Would you buy a car that had a sealed casing around the engine that you weren't allowed to open? That to check the oil you had to go to only a select few service stations which charge twice what others do?

Any computer with closed architecture and a closed operating system isn't worthwhile. The closed architecture and software of Apple may be fine for people who know nothing about computers and are afraid to learn, but it's not good enough for the self-educated.

In response to "smiley" they don't crash as much because the don't do half as much.
Yes they are safer, only because they are too basic for hackers, it would be boring.......
Also PC is more advanced, in all applications, and is more comprehensive, then mac, and cheaper. Mac is also more expensive, because it is a fashion label. (MAC and APPLE)
Also i say they don't use them in work places, yes they might have MAC pcs but, they are running WINDOWS on it.
And finally, i have vista and it is the most amazing operating system i have ever seen and used.
THERE!

Mac are superior depending on what you want to do... If its to play computer games, you need a PC or install Microsoft windows on your Mac... But for a work computer, Mac are for sure the best choice if it was not about the price...

The only reason Macs have fewer viruses is because their market share is so pathetically small that virus writers don't bother with them. As Mac had a momentary increase in market share over the last year, the number of viruses they got hit with went up.

Re: Smiley. You're right, but it doesn't change anything. If Mac ever got a decent market share, they'd have just as many viruses and malware as PCs do. It's simply the way the online world works.

While I will say that there are plenty of things that Macs are good for (music, photos, video editing, FINAL CUT) Yes PCs do have their problems but that's half the fun. I build my own PCs because I like to have the best rig for games. Macs are proprietary so while there are upgrades there isn't the kind of love that goes into carefully building your PC from the ground up. A computer with no problems is just boring...

Also why is there a Norton Antivirus 10.0 for Mac?
