Low-carb Diet Is More Effective Than Low-fat Diet
I believe a low carb diet is more effective. We see the results faster from a low carb diet, but the results usually don't last long if a lifestyle change isn't made.

Carbs turn straight to sugars when they hit your stomach acids. Cutting them out is a good idea. Breads, pastas, pastries - straight to sugar.

And if you stop eating any fat at all, your body goes into hibernation mode and starts hoarding it, instead of shedding it. Eating small amounts of fats is vital.

A low-carb diet refers to a diet which has low content of carbohydrates in it. Generally a diet is made depending on the condition of the patient. Generally every diet has a common point of adding low-fat ingredients. But nowadays it is seen that a low-carb diet is more effective than a low-fat diet because results were seen to have come out faster in a low-carb diet. Thus often new dieticians are laying stress on low-carb diets than low-fat diets. But here one thing else is always given importance and a special mention that a low-carb diet also requires a prescribed change in the lifestyle of the patient. Without this change a low-carb diet may not start showing its effect in a patient. Generally a low-fat diet takes much a longer time span to show its effect depending on the condition of the patient.

Your talking about life style change it is hard for both low carb diet and low fat diet to adapt on those diets.
I say low carb diet is more affective because I love fatty meats so much I can't live without them

I believe that the amount of food consumed and not the type of food is far more effective in loosing or gaining weight. About everyone knows when they have had too much or too little to eat.
I recommend a daily dose of meditation, a 10 to 15 minute period of complete relaxation and reflection, could be all that is necessary to loose or gain weight.

I don't believe in diets period!!!
Diets are NOT the solution, take a minute to think of the following;
Diets take the wrong approach, they limit you on what to eat and therefore you don't have control, it is the diet that takes control of your life. Diets also put you in the "Diet mentality," if you break you diet you will most likely feel guilt and anxiety, these feeling are not what a person should feel specially not towards food!
You should take a look at the book "Water With Lemon" by Zonya Foco and Stephen Moss.
