Don't get me wrong, I'll eat and enjoy a lobster, but there are plenty of other excellent seafood and shellfish choices which are cheaper and easier to prepare and eat. Lobster is almost more about the pageantry than the taste (the spectacle of the large insectoid, the dribble bib, cracking the shell, dipping in the drawn butter). If it were more readily available it may not even be the famous delicacy. New England Colonies actually used to feed lobster to prison inmates because it was cheap and plentiful back then.
Lobster is delicious and one of my favorites. I have yet to find anything that matches it's subtle
and unique flavor. If prepared correctly, I am hard pressed to think of anything I would prefer. I
do love fois gras as well, but it is harder to come by. Lobster wins it for me.
If it were because of cost I guess i would agree somewhat.but bring it on I love the fact that
instead of nimble little taste bites, you can get a whole load of the flavor full taste, all in one
fork full, it is great, and with a glass or two of bubbly it goes down very well darling:-))
