If it's only for our economy i will be in it.
Because of high gas prices the people shopping has been decreased. When you earn 500dollar a month
and you pay 350 for gas and you only have 150 left. Then you pay 100 dollar in your water, insurance
and etc. Then you only have50 left then you need to eat. So what?
Nothing left for the person.
NOT MANY PEOPLE WILL BUY STUFF. THEN THE STORES WILL BE IN BANKRUPT. THEN MANY PEOPLE LOSES JOB. |

I agree that we need to do more drilling to lower the prices of fuel and that this will help while
we look for other fuel sources. I see that rbetan did not carefully read the debate as tyhe biggest
point was that we will end up in the same boat. Some people need to read more than just the
headlines. |

Gas prices are going up because industry experts are worried about a shortage in the near future. If
legislation was passed that would open up more areas for drilling, then there would be much less
concern about shortages and gas prices would fall. That would have a huge impact on the economy (in
a good way) because gas prices were largely responsible for the economy going south in the first
place. |

The problem with gas is that it is the worst case scenario for the consumer.
The demand is sure to increment in the future.
The supply is sure to diminish in the future.
So even if we drill our way to hell to find all the gas that we can possibly find under our earth,
we will still be stuck at the same historical moment in another point in time in the future.
Oil will not reproduce and have little baby oil molecules okay, it will run the bleep-out.
So why risk it!!! Why risk having other environmental problems if we will run into the same problem
in the future, not enough oil, to many people wanting the little oil that is left.
The alternative is to INVEST and EXPLORE other technology; Solar power, hydro cars, wind energy,,,,
The answer is to invest in Scientific Research and education. |

Ive considered this a lot and i mean a lot.
Your point went through my mind a lot and this is what i figured. The way your idea would work is
would be to make all pedestrians who are within biking distance of work to take bikes, maybe mass
government handout, and reserve gas for only economy and military reasons or else we will just run
out again and if we run out again before we figure out a new source then were stuck to a crawl for a
while. |
