What you are saying is Labour (A Hyena never changes it's spots) always wrecks the economy and when
the Conservatives have been in trouble with recession they fix it.
The Labour (spelling doesn't change anything) government has now come along and wrecked it, good
and proper.
Like the Labour (more suited to fat cats) government you casually ignore that facts and promote a
stir fried mush of the truth.
It all boils down to this, in the great wok of life. No country can afford the social handout and
promises of this leadership.
The welfare state days as we all know them are numbered, the work shy and feckless will be the ones
who suffer the most. And as for the N.H.S it was never intended to be the cure for all including
some of the procedures performed to-day, free of charge.
Too many people in this country depend on handouts for day to day living, in all areas of their
lives, from the cradle to the grave.
This lot are trying to buy their way out of trouble, as usual.
Do you know any other business where it borrows from the banks and lends it to them?
Give people the choice and they will have someone more capable running the economy.
Hardly this lot.;-/) |

Firstly, it's 'Labour'. But enough of that.
There is little evidence to suggest that Labour 'always wrecks the economy'. We are currently in a
recession under a Labour government. The last recession that hit this country was in the early
1990s, when the country had been ruled by the Conservatives for 10 years. Before that it was the
late 1970s, and a Labour government. The early 1960s saw an extended period of slow growth under a
Conservative government which continued under the subsequent Labour government. Going back to the
previous economic difficulties just after The Second World War was under a Labour government.
To summarise, we've had regularly economic problems under governments from both sides of the
political spectrum, from the Nationalising Labour of the post-WW2 days to the fiercely Monetarist
Conservatives under Thatcher which privatised it all back! Both had economic troubles. The best
period of the UK economy since WW2 was from the early 1990s to the late 2000s: Starting under a
Conservative government, continuing for the majority of the boom under a Labour government.
It's called the economic cycle, and it doesn't take political sides. Historically it has happened
whoever is in power and no-one has been able to stop it, or even mitigate it effectively. |
