King Arthur And Morgan La Fay Are Not Fictions
I think as with all things there is some trace of truth to the whole thing. Let me know your opinions. I put FACT OR FICTION but they changed it....

They're probably based on someone(s). Much of mythology stemmed from some real person or experience.

However, the popular story this myth evolved into is much too far fetched to be even half real. The lady in the lake. Pulling the sword from the stone. Etc etc. Lots of artistic license was added to that mythology. Take it with a grain of salt.

I believe that in truth that all legends are based on some form of truth seeing as there is much evidence pointing to the really king arthur and the life of his half sister who was considered a witch, Morrigan La Fay.

King Arthur did exist just his name was a bit different, kinda like king Arthura. Excalibur was simply a peasant finding a sword in a lake (throwing swords in lakes was a kind of sword burial). And Morgan La Fay was probably a relative of Merdin (Merlin), the peasant, who claimed to have psychic ability and was then hired by the king. It was proven on Nat Geo.

Call it myth if the word fiction makes you uncomfortable. Myth at least implies that there could be some connection to some actual events somewhere, perhaps.

There is no real evidence Arthur existed, much less Morgan le Fay. No contemporary chronicles speak of him except one which is believed to have been forged retrospectively. Most likely he is just a mythical hero from the Welsh bardic literature, perhaps slightly jumbled up with the king Ambrosius Aurelianus who fought with the Saxons.

In a way it's paradoxical that we even have to debate this. If Arthur had been such a tremendous figure, the mark he left on history would have been so clear that we wouldn't have to debate his existence.

This shows that even if Arthur did exist, he accomplished nothing. Britain was overrun by the Saxons anyway. It is the descendants of the people Arthur fought against who today celebrate him as a great hero.
