Keeping A Monkey As A Pet Is Criminal And Should Be Banned
My family and another I know had pet squirrel monkeys years ago. Monkeys in the wild live in large societies and when locked up as individual pets they are horribly depressed and angry. They pee on everything, throw handfulls of their feces, bite, smell awful. It is a torturous betrayal of their free spirit to force one to be a pet. Usually they die in a very short time in captivity. Anywhere that still allows monkeys to be kept as pets should ban the practice and enforce it.

I agree it is just as cruel as having a slave in a dungeon. And before you say it I know people volunteer for that but it is mental, and the animals don't have a choice. If they had a chance they run away. But then they probably couldn't survive as they have lost their ability and natural environment.
