Just Because You Speak 3 Languages Doesn't Make You Smart
I am getting this debate from homestars homepage.
If you think that speaking a different language makes you think your smarter than anyone else vote for it if you don't vote against it.
Thanks for voting
No it doesn’t make you smart but it is definitely a sign of a certain level of ability. Besides
what does ‘smart’ mean? We all have our moments of brilliance and idiocy.
Just because you speak different languages does not mean anything. You could have a very low IQ.
Plus this debate is based on if you think your automatically smarter than anyone else because you
speak different languages. Anyway i think he is being a showoff.
IQ doesn't mean everything. And you're a hypocrite. Well "i" was just telling something about me, just like "I was born in California" or "I love to ride anything with wheels."
(And this is from your homepage)
I am an honor student.
I am very helpful.
I made 12 debates that are really good.
It does not AUTOMATICALLY make you smart, in fact you could have a quite low IQ but happen to have
grown up immersed in the 3 languages and just happen to know how to speak all 3 acceptably by the
time you're an adult.
But, in a majority of the cases I do think the people are pretty smart.
I know you can be dull minded and speak more than one language, but people who know more than one
deserve respect for their knowledge, which I believe does indeed signify a lack of ignorance and the
means of understanding. In America, there are much fewer people who speak more than one language
than in European and eastern countries. So an outlier to this trend surely is noticed for their
brilliance.
