Definitely real. Definitely the Son of God.

A great book on this subject is Lee Strobel's "the Case for Christ."

I would say the biggest reason people who know about Jesus and don't believe in Jesus as saviour (taking into account the topic description), is the the way supposed followers of Jesus have conducted themselves.

Then you have the large number of people who are raised in religions which do not revolve around Christianity.

Then you have the people who don't need a saviour. They (by their definition) are not linked to eternity. This universe is their only reality.

and one comment about Jesus being the only way to heaven...

Jesus being the only way to heaven could still be all inclusive. It could be said that if everyone goes to heaven, they go because of what Jesus did. This could include Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, Mormons, Agnostics, Catholics (that may be a stretch...just kidding), people who believe aliens are the answer and everyone else.

Jesus forgave the people who were killing him, without them asking for his forgiveness. Who are we to single out the unforgiven?

The only way I know that a person (and I don't know of any other way that makes this claim) can know they are forgiven is through Jesus. It is important to note that this is not disagreeing with any other religion because none make this claim.

But just because a person doesn't know they are forgiven doesn't mean they're not. They simply don't know it. I would be very careful in accusing the forgiven. If there's one thing I'm sure of in the Bible...it's Jesus having a REAL problem with accusers.

We live in 2008 A.D. Everything before that is B.C.
Jesus is real all right, and you must have faith to believe, that a girl had immaculate conception and gave birth to him. If you don't have faith you are missing out on something in my 'umhble opinion.

The bible states that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. It ALSO says ALL scripture is inspired by GOD! Jesus is most differently real. He is the still small voice that speaks to you aka your conscious; pay close attention He may be trying to tell you something!

I am a believer of God I do not claim a religon, to me it's another way to stero type, but I do believe in Jesus as the son of God, that he was crusified, buried, and rose on the third day. I have never pushed my belifs on anyone, I have never denied my belifs nor do I keep from from witnessing or speaking of Him just because some people don't like it. You have a choice to what you do or do not believe, this is mine, but if someone is trying to knock Him, I will defend Him to the fullest!

Circular logic. You can't state that his being real is proof of his existence. You need proof of his existence to state he is real, not vica versa.

To Cephus i just don't believe in Jesus for no reason he talks to me that's why i do you think he's just someone in the sky that waits for you to die and go there but if you seek him he will reveal himself to you while your on earth

So you're basically admitting to everyone that you're insane. Great, your confession noted.

Wow congratulations you are a closed minded twit. The bible is only a book. From your statement i could also prove that dragons fairies and magic is real because it says that in a hairy potter book.

"Wow congratulations you are a closed minded twit," says the one so close minded as to reject the greatest intellectual journey that could ever be embarked upon, simply because it is acceptably intolerant as himself.

Given the lack of contemporary (please let’s not argue over this part again) confirmation and how the story of Jesus conforms quite well to the mythological template I find myself more drawn to theory that he was partially invented and partially an amalgam of other people of the time. The Jews of the time suffered under terrible religious and secular hierarchies and needed the idea of someone who could give them the tools to free themselves from both. As far as heaven goes I see it this way. Either heaven doesn’t exist in which case the point is moot, or it exists but the route there is more about trying to be the best person you can be rather than whose divine butt you kiss and in what way in which case I’ll either make it or not on the merits of my own actions, or it’s the traditional heaven in which case I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to go.

I'm not into the "proving" Jesus, Bible and God on the intellectual level. I read most of your posts because I think they're usually worthwhile. So I'm just commenting on your post...no biggie here.

But at the time...while some Jews accepted Jesus as the Messiah, the Jews as a religion and society rejected him.

So, rejected and demanded to be put to death by the heads of the Jewish religion, hard to imagine how their accounts of Jesus would have much to do with his place in history. I think the odds would suggest they would do everything in their power to make the whole thing disappear.

So we're pretty much left to his followers, (don't forget the story says Peter denied he knew Jesus three times) who had to be afraid they would be put to death if they were known, somehow spreading the word out from the Jewish nation into the heart of the Roman Empire.

The fact that Constantine made Christianty the official religion of the Roman Empire 300 years after the death of Jesus has to be one of the most remarkable things ever to happen on this planet.

I believe evidence suggests that this thing called christianity had in the span of 300 years gone from a small group of Jews in hiding to a corrupt, organized, mixed with Roman religion. Roman worship at that time was a mixture of just about every religious form they had run across during their "adventures".

Anyway, could have been folklore. If it was, it was the most powerful that ever was.

Suppose that god is real, then we are all sons of god, same as Christ,it means we are all Christ.

We are sons and daughters of what will be Christ's perfect bride, which is the church. Corporately we are the bride of Christ and individually the sons and daughters.

People are born into a religion, told it's the only one, scared to not leave it. I have yet to meet anyone who picked up a copy of all the major world religions text, read them all, and then tried to make an intelligent decision about which one was tops. So there really is no way for you to say yours is right. You can quote the Bible but others will quote their Koran or whatever, that doesn't prove anything.

If God is angry, petty and vindictive then he's a bully and there's no point to trying to appease him when you might get whacked anyway. If God is kind, loving, peaceful, then all he cares about is that we're good people who do good things. It doesn't matter which religion you were born into. Some kid up in the Himalaya's who may never hear of Christianity is not going to be sent to Hell just because he didn't know Jesus. Likewise someone "Christian" who spends a lifetime judging and shoving others to conform to his own beliefs probably is not going to go to Heaven.

Jesus is just a fairytale, the entire span of your religion is nothing more then a fairytale, granted a fairytale with a few moral lessons, but nothing more then that.
