Thomas Jefferson was the best President which the USA ever had.
Ronald Reagan was the second-best.
JFK was the third-best, so yes he is on the list of Betters....
I liked and respected JFK but the truth is his assassination took him away before he could truly
cement the grand title you want to bestow on him. Alternate "best President's" I'd nominate would
include: 1) George Washington - the first, the very symbol of honesty and integrity, a military
leader through hardship and great uncertainty, he's a classic historic favorite for good reason, 2)
Abraham Lincoln - freeing the slaves and preserving the union really says a lot, 3) Franklin D.
Roosevelt - literally pulled an entire nation out of extreme financial ruin and whether you like or
agree with the social program trends he started the fact is he was the first and original to come up
with those as something new.
So compared to all that what did JFK do? Gave us a cool President with a cool family who spoke well
and stood up during the Cuban Missile Crisis. OK what else? That seems to fall far short of the
three I listed above.
JFK founded the Peace Corps and Medicare; he backed the Civil Rights movement and space exploration, although both the passage of the Civil Rights Bill and the moon landing occurred after his death
