"It's Time For A Change!" Mr. Obama's Mantra, Means Nothing
I submit that he wants to tax us more and "provide" more government programs: But the government cannot give what it does not first tax from us. And, if we provide universal health benefits to our citizens, that is one step closer to communism, to which we, as a nation, are diametrically opposed. The change we need is simply to get back to the original intent of our founding fathers, that being a nation of free people with religious and business liberty, as well as the right to live free and unencumbered by a controlling government. Ron Paul '08!

It is no good, so long as there isn't any action behind it. The Wizard's Fifth Rule "Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds will betray a lie." Thank You Terry Goodkind

 Chevyboy,

I'm confused; why throw in the "we need results and not from an ali with Muslims;" are you saying that Obama is a Muslim? And if he was, so what? You want to talk about the United States and freedom, and then you condemn an entire religion or view simply because of a few bad eggs? Do you think all Muslims are bad? Would you condemn Christians for the Crusades? Sorry for the loaded questions...

This is a country where anything can happen; where a black man can become President of the United States, and I am frickin proud of that. There shouldn't be racial, gender, or religious persecution in this nation of ours; that's what makes it so great.

"It's Time For A Change!" A change for what?

It is not like we have to create some new government or American identity. It already exists and has since the first day America Declared Independence. The true American ideology and identity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, The U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Anything that seeks to drift from those documents should be avoided. Our current government has drifted from those documents; however, they are not to blame. I must admit, the American people themselves have failed. Handing over our freedoms and liberties in exchange for handouts from the government does not line up with the ideals of the Republic.

The only change we need is for the American people to change their current course and seek a return to the ideals that made the United States of America great!

I believe you are incorrect. Maybe Obama might be like the others and he really won't change much, but there is hope in his statement and hope is what drives the American people to go for something greater than ourselves; the rebuild the nation's rank among the world as the greatest and brightest. I don't know if Obama can do that; its way too early to tell, but I am at least hopeful with this administration than the last.

I also like Ron Paul...one of the only "true" Republicans left. While I am a Democrat, I find that the Republicans that ally themselves with the George W. Bush administration aren't truly Republicans as it was always the Demorats who wanted to be the international police; the Republicans wanted to be introverted while the Democrats extroverted. I think Ron Paul would've been a good choice for a president, but alas he just didn't have the support. I doubt he will ever have the support...

Hope is what drove Hitler's supporters too, doesn't mean it was well-founded.

I don't know...I find America is already pretty sufficient with liberties. We're pretty darn lucky to have the government we have. We're not controlled.

As for change--why not? Change can be good. Maybe he'll hurt America, but maybe he won't.
