It's Really Hard Being Perfect.
It's very hard for me to keep this status of "perfect" in every aspect of life. I would like to ask my fellow perfects on this site if it's just as hard for them or do you find it easy. I don't want to exclude the majority (non-perfects) from this debate so feel free to just post your gratitude because we give you something to shoot for. Compliments can be directed at us perfects as a whole (it's a perfect gesture to share credit when credit is due.).

I suffer from that drive for perfection, too, and it isn't easy. When you try to do everything perfectly, you're bound to disappoint yourself. Your work is never quite good enough, so you try harder to make it perfect but wind up procrastinating or never finishing anything. Then you feel even worse because you're not achieving your potential, and you plunge deeper into your efforts to establish your talents, but now your standards must be higher . So you avoid your work and waste time writing paragraphs on a debate site, because you can finish one paragraph and nobody knows who you are and you just hope the insults are fewer than the compliments.

I gotta get to work now.

Firstly, I think that nobody is really perfect.

There are people who are extremely talented, but I believe that pretty much everyone has at least one little talent.

Also, I would say that to be perfect, or nearly perfect, would be difficult. Mainly, it would be very hard to become nearly perfect (you have to grow your talents and inovate all the time).
And shamely, the mainstream does not accept the nearly perfect people very good as well.
They may admire them, but a lot of people doesnt really think about it and dont care about it.

Perfect is easy if you are perfect, yet such a struggle for perfectionists. Maybe they need to up their game.

You just keep telling yourself that. The sex part is especially....um.....well, let me phrase it like this, when one thinks and says they are that good, generally speaking, they leave something to be desired in the bedroom (or the kitchen table) where ever your preference is.

Yes! Oh yes! It took me nearly 13 years to learn the art to master degree/PHD level but I am finally there! A doctor of perfection! I bet you aren't a doctor of perfection! Oh and guess what it is my birthday on Sunday and I am getting lots of presents and money and lovely things! Birthdays are the best time of year for me because I share a birthday with a friend AND an auntie! Anyway I have gone off on a tangent! Perfection was very hard but I finally did it! I am the most perfect person in the WHOLE world! So there!

If we were to reach perfection, we would stop trying and perfection would soon be lost. Our world calls for constant change. As soon as we feel we have perfection in one area in our life alone, that part of our life will soon change. If we are not adaptable, there is no way to even near perfection and reach the point of exceptional. Perfection isn't going to happen, so reach for something realist.

As far as perfectionism and the need to strive to be perfect goes, I think most people are going to frustrate the Hell out of themselves. There are too many views of what constitutes perfect in any one given aspect of life to achieve perfection that anyone, other than yourself will acknowledge. If you choose to be delusional, then you may be perfect. I, for instance, like to think I am a perfect person to be in a relationship with. I am independent, funny, intelligent, caring, way not needy...to the point that I don't even want someone that needs to be stuck to me like velcro, don't care who a guy looks at (as long as it is me they return to at the end of the day), but here I am without a significant other. It seems that I am not perfect to some people. The last guy I dated, wanted to be joined at the hip. The one before that wanted to mold me into something else. I have a mind of my own....thank you very much. See, I feel I'm a "perfect" catch, but I am not "perfect" to everyone. I am "perfect" for someone.

He who laughs last in this debate will most certainly be the slowest one to reach pure perfection...;-)

Very true, it sure is hard to be perfect. I could quite confidently say there are few on Planet Earth who are perfect! Perfection can only truly be reached through God.

It is hard to define perfect as everyone has their own views on perfection. No-one is perfect in other peoples eyes so no-one is truly perfect.

I don't even try. One time i actually tried to stop being perfect for a while just to see if i could. I pulled it off perfectly, and yet somehow i was still perfect. Don't over think how that's possible. Only perfect people understand it.

Wow. How did i manage to put that response on the wrong side?!

Absolutely.
It's never going to happen.
So anyone who tries to make themselves perfect
Isn't going to get anywhere because it
just plain will NEVER EVER happen :).
