It's Interesting Which Words Are Blocked As Offensive By This Site While Others Pass Just Fine
Naturally I can't list the words directly but cr___ (rhymes with peep) and p____ (rhymes with kicker) are two of them. Yet it's OK to say something is stupid or to say jerk. I'm really not complaining, I actually find it entertaining. I just tried to use a quote from a Steve Miller Band lyric in a post and was surprised it had a problem. But, uh, this topic will probably get pulled from discussion anyway.

It's poor coding by the site designers. You'll find that if you put two "profanities" side by side with no space between them, it will pass the filters, yet to include an anagram of the word "carp" one has to ask for approval.

The notion that the words themselves are offensive is laughable, especially when one can see and hear far worse on many other sites. And then there are things which go unchallenged in public places and even gets put in the media, e.g. The clothier French Connection UK and its four letter acronym which begins FC and ends UK.

The only truly offensive speech are slander and libel (e.g. Falsely accusing someone of pedophilia) or speech intended to provoke or advocate violence against others.

Text filters are like web filters: No one likes them and they don't work anyway.

 Hey, it's weird, the word cr_ap appeared in your post so I tried to post a comment about it being unblocked but now I get that block again. I don't know what's going on. Maybe you used a keyboard trick. But I agree it's a pretty benign word to be blocked.

Probably, that's just the way this stupid site is anyhow. Their filters here have arguably the most moronic selection of words I have ever seen in my life.
