Would you criticize people for eating beef pork or chicken? No because it has become socially
acceptable. The only reason people are against eating dog meat is that dogs are seen primarily as
pets, not a food source. Different countries have different views just live with it. |

Yah, but they are still wrong: The way that they kill them. |

I agree that is correct. It is just part of their culture |

There is nothing inherently immoral or unethical about eating a dog, if we believe that the
slaughtering of cows, chickens and pigs is an acceptable practice. It really all boils down to taste
and socio-cultural factors. I would have to be enticed with a rather hefty amount of money to ever
consider eating a dog, since I was raised within a western cultural framewhere, where these animals
are seen as furry and cute creatures, that make for perfect pets and are "man's best friend." If I
had not been raised within this cultural context, I am sure that eating a dog would not seem all
that different to eating any other type of animal.
We should also keep in mind that there are some cultures where keeping house pets is believed to be
just as bizarre and unacceptable as it is for us to even consider cooking a dog for dinner. |

I wouldn't say it was hypocritical unless you yourself ate dogs and weren't Korean lol - but on the
other hand I do agree, it is just a recipe. Just because the majority of the western world see dogs
as furry waggly tailed salivating creatures, doesn't mean they don't taste nice. Like the French and
their snails.
I'm a vegetarian! |

There is certainly something to be said for the people in America to recognize and understand other
cultures. There are many many countries that just don't view dogs as pets, but Americans (because
of our isolation from other cultures, I think) have a hard time envisioning things different than
they are in this country. |

Wrong. I can choose to not like any aspect of any culture i don't like.
This relativism is a dangerous idea. Some things are better than others! I can rate things! And i
find eating dogs cats and horses to be wrong and eating cows chickens and pigs to be OK. |

Cows and pigs don't show the same range of emotions as dogs, so they're far more suitable for
farming purposes. Plus it's not just the fact that dogs are eaten that's objectionable, but the way
they are raised and treated in Korea. Sometimes the dogs suffer agonizing deaths, like being
strangled or boiled in water. |
