It's Called Dinner, Not Supper

I've always said dinner. I think that it is a regional thing though. I am not really for or against the use of supper. Just voted over here because I'm used to saying dinner. Where I live, most people say dinner, not supper. However, for those who say supper, that's totally their choice.

I always say dinner. Even if I went to an old fashioned supper club (I don't know what that is--I heard it from an old movie) I would still order dinner. If you go to a sit down restaurant or a buffet, they list breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I like dinner to supper. Supper sounds so... Last 2000 years ago. LOL. The northerners in my family use dinner. The southerners use supper.

It should be called whatever you like it to be called. Everyone has a preference but there shouldn't be a definitive name for the last meal of the day.

Some people refer to lunch as "dinner" while others refer to supper as "dinner."
The way I see it, the use of the word "dinner" should be abolished to rid ourselves of the task of deciding which meal should rightfully be called "dinner." We should only eat breakfast, lunch and supper (and perhaps snacks in between).

A special exception is Kraft Dinner.

Although I probably say dinner more often than I say supper it really doesn't matter, nor do I really care.

I think it is a regional thing. As long as you call me to eat, it is all crystal to me.

"Dinner" as I am told, is the largest meal. "Supper" means the night meal. So "Dinner" could very well mean lunch.
