It Is Possible To Be "for" Something And "against" It At The Same Time
This post is inspired, obviously, by the name of the site ;D

Well, duh. Ever have a conflicting thought? I believe in a woman's right to choose, but also believe that abortion is taking a life. I see both sides. Eventually, we have to take a stance on most important things and in my example, I choose a woman's right to choose, but do have two separate opinions on the subject. Sometimes, we just have to go with the opinion that feels right to us, even if we also see the other side. OMG...is this a real question?

You can be for and against opinions because opinions are neither right or wrong.

Beliefs are not opinions. Knowledge is not belief.

In America, women should have the right to make their own choices. It's not an opinion or belief. It's a fact based on American law.

The belief that abortion is taking a life is up for grabs. You believe it, you have your reasons. Your reasons could be unreasonable. Humans can believe in anything.

Therefore, you are correct in committing to choice in regards to abortion.

I'm "for" alot of things because I wish to act collectivly on certain issues. Individually I am "against" them, but sometimes you have to act in a way that is best for the team.

This, I believe to be true. Almost all debatable subjects have certain elements that contribute to ones reasoning for either for or against. Sometimes these characteristic even out, creating a contemplation of "for" and "against", and the need for a middle column.

The nature of debate is that if you dont completely agree with the resolution then you disagree with it, simple as that. There is no such thing as "partially agree". If you feel that way, then vote against it and post your version of the resolution as a separate debate, which you can then agree with.

You don't see congress asking "who thinks we should both pass this bill and not pass it?" or courts of law asking the jury "how many of you feel the defendant should be found both guilty and not guilty?".

There is always a default category for undecided people, and in debate the default category is "against".
