I'll push the funny ones down on this one.
America, China, Russia and Europe are up to their necks in the world economy. It is over. The world
that the debaters below me believe in does not exist. Say goodbye while you can still see it in the
past.
The political games are still played with the sheep, but it's over. These "nations" (yeah, I know
Europe isn't a nation) must protect their interests throughout the world. Important industry that
directly effects the people back home is spread throughout the world like never before and is
accelerating.
Yeah...throw oil companies in there and roll around while tearing your sackcloth during your
writhing and moaning.
It's time to buddy up. Like never before. Deals and more deals. Under the table and over the
table.
Your pompous stance is betrayed by the governments who rule you. It is also betrayed by the
businesses from which you feed while pretending to be immune to the stench.
You are protected, you are fed, you are able to come and go as you please. Your noseplugs do not
hide the fact you are enabled by the stench.
Fools. You really think America went into Iraq because of oil. At least you know it wasn't those
weapons! America went into Iraq because the ruling body of Iraq was blatantly anti-American and easy
to overthrow. Yes, Iran should be worried. At some point, America will no longer be concerned with
keeping the peace but will simply destroy the military capability. The only reasons to keep the
peace would be to protect financial interests or protect people. Hopefully both. Less people will
die.
Odds are America will go down. But your relief will be short-lived. At least until one power takes
control. Just hope it's a power of your liking. If it's not, you probably won't be doing much
debating. |

Then why isn't the US preventing Israel from having 200 nukes? Israel has already shown a
predilection for unprovoked violence and mass murder of civilians in other countries.
In the US's collective dementia, a "threat" is a country that doesn't serve the US empire. If the
country doesn't knuckle under, is defiant, or refuses to sell resources to the US at below market
rates, then it is deemed a "threat". Claiming that the US is acting to "defend freedom" around the
world is like claiming the Nazis brought the jews together to protect them.
Countries which actually are a threat to their neighbors and own citizens are left alone
because they either are US "friends" or have no resources for the US to steal: Uzbekistan, Sudan,
North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Burma, etc. The only place where the US ever sticks its nose in is where
it's not wanted. |

I agree with Spaniard! As long as US is not the world’s nuclear police (which it isn’t) it is
very absurd for it to go barging into other countries ASSUMING them to be a threat. Maybe their
military action would make more sense if that particular country announced an open war with US then
the ‘threat’ would be legitimate and the US government will not have to come up with lame
explanations as to why they attacked a particular country with full military force and destroyed the
lives of billions.
Just because you have the power to crush the weak does not mean you use it for all the wrong
reasons. Or was it just for the thrill? Political popularity maybe? |

No country poses a significant military threat to the United States. It's quite bizarre how apt
Americans are to feel threatened by little tinpot third world countries. And your recent adventure
in Iraq, backed as it was by preposterous claims about that country's capabilities, has shown how
little the judgement of America's leaders can be trusted.
So, in my view, unless a country has an active record of belligerence against you, such a policy
would be completely unacceptable. The world might be a better place if all countries had nuclear
weapons. That way they would at least have the means to defend themselves against aggression,
preventing wars from occurring in the first place. |

First. Define "Threat". I think that the U.S. Isn't a world police force and that if we take such
actions constantly we will become the scorn of other countries(which we already are for the very
same reason) that in the minds of Americans are "Threats". Allies today could be enemies of
tomorrow. |
