It Is Immoral To Practice Homosexuality
I'm opposed to creating laws that ban homosexual behavior, and it should be tolerated. But like other behaviors in our world, it is morally wrong to practice homosexuality based on the harm it does to the individual and others.

I believe homosexuality is wrong. Traditionally denied by religion (except for moderate ones) and not even useful for evolutionism that it bears no children.

I believe that it is wrong.

But i do think there is some sort of love between homosexuals. But there are so many different types of love. As anyone who studied Greek could tell me.

I believe Homosexuality to be both immoral and unnatural, and any biologist would agree with me; if not then they should rethink their career. According to Darwin's "survival of the fittest" the stronger animal will live longer, and therefore will be able to reproduce. But if the animal decides to be homosexual he cannot reproduce (obviously) and therefore he harms the population.

It is natural for animals to desire to reproduce and further the growth of the population, but it is unnatural for them to want to harm the population. Homosexuality is rarely seen in nature and is rightly so.

By your logic charity is immoral and unnatural. It is bad for the population overall as it drags down the species in the survival of the fittest argument. Charity helps those that should be shed from the gene pool and hinder the resources of society. If morality is based (as you propose) on a prolific populace then many virtues would be immoral.

Of course it is quite natural because it takes place in nature all the time. It is not normal because it does not fit the numerical norms.

It is both natural and moral.

It is said falsely that it does no harm to anyone else, but if you participate in a harmful behavior with someone, you are harming them regardless of whether they are willing participants.

I don't believe that. Love is love. Your allowed to love whoever you want. Allow people to decide who they choose. Give it a break.

How is something that
a) has no influence over others
b)is a personal choice
c) has been proven by the American Psychological Association to not be able to be changed
d) has been legalized and had most rights extended to in almost every major European democracy
e) has been a part of human society since the beginning of time
f) has hurt nobody, except when other people use it as a scapegoat to breed fear and hatred

wrong and unnatural?

Its wrong to base an opinion about this on the bible or religion or Darwin or anything.
People like you use the word homosexual as an adjective, objectifying the person its describing
and that is absolutely disgusting.

How on earth can a person have the nerve and enough ignorance to condemn another person, another being of life, just because they are different than the majority.

Difference does NOT equal wrong
its just another way of doing something.

I don't see how homosexuals 'harm' everyone. And like other people have said, it's no more immoral than being heterosexual.

What two consenting adults do behind closed doors harms no one and is no ones business but their own. Also who decides whats moral or not, in my opinion a if a homosexual relationship is loving then it is no more immoral than heterosexual one.

No, it isn't.

Being homosexual, bisexual, or heterosexual is just as much under your control as being born with an XX chromosome versus an XY chromosome, or being born with black, white, brown, or some other shade of skin. It's no different than being left handed.

(btw, all three of those things, being not white, being female, and being left handed used to be considered by the Christian Church and many other societies the same way homosexuality was considered then and is now: Wrong and inferior/ unnatural/ sinful)

Even if it weren't genetic, and it was like which religion you follow or which brand of clothes you wear, it still isn't immoral or unnatural. Is it immoral to be Jewish instead of Christian? To be Muslim? To be an atheist? What about being a Bhuddist? What about clothing styles? Is it immoral to wear gothic fashion? Pop/ preppy fashion? Your own personal style? Are any of those immoral? They're choices, aren't they?

Many of the problems that homosexuals have, such as high suicide rates, are primarily cause by, guess what, homophobia! Others, such as STDs, are caused by the lack of thinking about it (less likely for you to do if there's no risk of getting pregnant, which is almost certain in a non safe sex hetero relationship) and by the fact that most people assume 'it won't happen to me'. Girls are taught that if they have unprotected sex with a guy it's almost certain that they will get pregnant, but STDs aren't mentioned nearly as much. Only some people have STDs, after all, is the general reasoning. And many people don't like using condoms for various reasons. Also there's the problem of taking someone's word for it. You ask, they say they don't have an STD. You believe them. There's also a feeling that getting HIV, or AIDS, or some other STD is the type of thing you hear about, not the type of thing you face.

Drug addiction and alcoholism are partially fueled by depression, which is caused or contributed often times in the gay community by homophobia. Also, if you're having to sneak off just to be with someone you like, you're more likely to be surrounded by illegal things and the pressure to drink or do drugs.

ANOTHER THING: Morality is a matter of opinion, not fact. While some people do support their opinions with facts, many support their opinions with other's opinions (religion, basically)

What harm do you propose that practising homosexuality does to anybody? Why is the union of two people who love each other and feel free to practice sexual acts immoral? Do you really want a world where certain people are discriminated against based purely on their sexual orientation?

The harm to oneself and others: I'll focus on male homosexual behavior.
1. Self-destructive behaviors associated with the "gay" life include: higher drug addiction (51%), higher alcoholism (47%), higher incidence of major depression (40%) leading to higher suicide rates, damage to one's body, such as, prostate pathology, rectal ulcers and rupture, chronic incontinence. Of course, STD's are far more rampant amongst practicing male homosexuals, including syphhilis, gonorrhea, bacterial and parasitic infections, as well as Herpes, Hepatitis B, anal warts. I haven't even mentioned AIDS, yet.

The harm to others is in the fact that study after study confirms the rampant, compulsive behavior demonstrated by practicing homosexual men; thus leading to harm to others.

All of this leads to significant decreased life expectancy.

Long term monogamous relationships between two men certainly can happen, but this is the exception.

I am not discriminating. Like I said it should be tolerated--however, I have made my case that it is immoral based on harm to oneself and to others. One can still practice the "gay lifestyle" and still believe it to be immoral--it is simply a matter of choice.

One can have dear friends that are gay and yet believe it to be immoral.

Practicing homosexuality is not like race or gender, etc. The gay lifestyle is a behavior while race and gender are properties--two different categories. I am not trivializing the choice to pursue the homosexual lifestyle as an easy choice one way or another. It may the most difficult choice to make not to practice homosexuality if one has such strong inclinations and desires.
