It Is Always Important To Have Two Opposing Views Represented For Balance

Two heads are better than one.
Two opposing views complimentary qualities.

Two astrophysicists would be complimentary to each other but would still argue a point.

A good debate/discussion could be when both find it hard to accept the others points.

I agree with you in some ways on this but I just think the adversarial system of acquiring the truth is ultimately doomed to failure

Not always. Not when one side is correct.

It is best when both sides are correct in their stance except for the part where they say the other is wrong. Always in this case.

I can balance well enough on one foot.

But seriously, I don't really understand the question. Opposing views in everything? There are things that need no opposition, or that would be ridiculous to oppose. But where is the line between that and something that should have two sides?

I think if there are two (or more) opposing views, they should certainly be represented. But it's not necessary to have two views in every case.

What do you mean two? You talk as if there weren't more possibilities than that.

Saying there are only two possible sides of an argument is like saying earth, air, fire and water are the only elements.

A balance exists in nature.
If there aren't enough predators the prey multiplies and starvation and disease kill them. If there enough prey the predators die and the preys population builds. Nature heals itself.

How the heck do we get any progress then? If half the congress is for and the other half is against then nothing is ever going to be decided. O wait that's how it is now.
