All that adding forced health care will do is to ensure companies don't hire anyone. Not hiring
anyone will throw us into a depression worse that the one that happened in the 20's-30's. |

Yep. It would take another trillion to add 1/3 of our uncovered people and illegal immigrants to get
health care coverage. Roughly 4 Trillion to cover all of them. Know why we haven't simply done it
yet? Obama needs permission and cannot easily push this through like all his other spending. 60% of
our uncovered are illegal aliens. Another huge chunk makes over 75 grand a year and chooses not to
have health care.

Although I agree with my2cents2u with the need for healthcare reform I just don't think our fragile
economy can take another canyon of debt. Just for an analogy if you're about to get laid off from
your job and the bank is about to foreclose your home that's not a good time to declare Jimmy needs
braces so let's spend our last dime at the dentist. |

People not dying from preventable and curable diseases and ailments is more important than us being
in "debt". Where is your humanity? |

Access to healthcare for all would be a great Idea compared to( Hmmmm let me see) spending trillions
of dollars to murder innocent civilians, as well as our own young men and women dying for no good
reason. Maybe the millions spent by pro life lobbyists in washington while 25,000 children die
everyday due to starvation and disease. Or even the billions spent supporting other countries and
questionable regimes.( Remember the taliban has all those great weapons because our government sent
those to them to fight the russians.) How bout the sensless war on drugs which cost billions every
year yet there are more drugs now than ever. How bout the billions of dollars used to bail out the
banking and car industries?? They should have failed and the Federal reserve should be
dissolved...oh federal reserve almost forgot them... A private entity who has sole control over our
economy?? The fore fathers warned of this hundreds of years ago yet we let it happen. Don't talk to
me about the stupidity of government healthcare until your address the stupidity of the American
people first. |

There is a great need for healthcare reform. There are so many issues with the way the medical
system is at the moment. Not only do many people go without routine medical care, there is a lack
of knowledge as to how to access the programs that do exist. There are free vaccinations for
children, but many doctor's offices do not know about some of the programs and, even when the
physicians do participate in the programs, many people in the commuinty have no idea that such
programs exist. There is no reason that a child should ever go without vaccines to prevent deadly
diseases. Not only do children deserve care, but adults too need medical care and preventative
treatment could save a great deal of lives, not to mention the money it saves. There are many
social programs that I do not believe in or that I believe need to be seriously regulated and
monitored, but where people's health and, actually, their lives depend upon reform, I think that
everyone is entitled to the same quality of care regardless of their financial status. There are
also benefits to providing quality healthcare to all. There are many people who are disabled with
pain. These people are unable to work and be productive members of society. They are viewed as
parasites for collecting disability, but they are not able to find a physician to manage their pain
because they do not have the insurance coverage to get them to the right doctors. If these people
were able to be treated, they could become productive and return to the workforce. Many people live
in shame and isolation because pain prevents them from being productive. Mental health is another
issue. Time lost at work due to depression, anxiety and other mental illness could be minimized if
more people had access to the treatments that can allow them to recieve treatment and return to work
more quickly. Instead, they do not get treatment and end up losing their jobs due to frequent
missed time and lateness. When someone cannot get up in the morning due to depression, for example,
they appear irresponsible. Some employers do offer good insurance benefits, but many do not. Those
who work part time or for companies that only pay for a portion of the insurance are going without
insurance and are unable to obtain the same quality of care as those who do have insurance. It is
not fair that having money is the only way to ensure health and well being. |
