When you spell overrated wrong I get a clue of why you don't like school :)
Anyways, school is immensely useful... Have you heard of little third-world African tots wanting to
go to school to learn? School is a privilege (more school humour)... We are all extremely fortunate
to be born until the massive wealth we are! Going to school is great!
Regardless of whether or not it is boring... It helps. |

I disagree. Mostly because, frankly, school IS important. Now, having said that, I'm just 15. I,
personally, believe school is irrelevant in only SOME departments. Math comes to mind. Literature,
science, and history, for example, are all very useful in life, and you need these things to prosper
and grow as a human..Despite learning them from an unhappy middle-aged person.
Let me explain. Without Literature class, in the minimum, we wouldn't be able to read: Something
which permits us to function in society, and a skill we need to gather information and contribute to
the common intelligence of humans.
Science. This is essential, for we need to know at least the basic things of how things work here on
Earth. Without this knowledge, it would hardly be possible for us to challenge things we believe to
be wrong, for it must be taught to be taken for truth.
History is EXTREMELY relevant in the sense that we cannot learn this without it being taught to us
(Except for in books, which ties in with Literature). You know that old saying 'Those who forget the
lessons of history are doomed to repeat them'? I believe that has truth in it, for if we never
learned of the Holocaust, for example, we would still have a mindset that peoples we believe to be
inferior deserve termination. Obviously that's not a good thing.
That's all I have to say. I hope I didn't digress from the debate.. |
