There are a few decent authors, but I agree, far too much of what people read is useless stuff, like
"Hello" magazine. |

Yes. I agree that modern literature has become very trashy. I truly believe that we have reached the
end of great novels. In 100 or more years now, people will not want to read the literature that was
written today. Much of it is degrading, unmoral, and unethical. It does not portray what society is
really like today. The literature of the past was excellent. Many masterpieces are still enjoyed
today. However, people today are not as educated as the people of the past. Many people today have
very poor penmanship and it shows in their writing. Therefore, I believe that today's literature is
very trashy and very boring. It is very sad to think that as advanced as we are today with
technology that no one can write better than the greatest writers in history. |

Its about book sales.....a best seller doesn't mean a quality book. |

LOL, omg yesss.... I must say that it has. No one seems to write through their soul anymore, it
takes so much searching to find good literature these days... That is if you don't want to read the
classics... |

No.
Art, including novels, has become more........Authentic.
We are having more freedom of movement in which to explain the character's elements than in previous
periods of history when there was more censorship.
They had all kinds of sex before in history, they just were not legally able to discuss it in their
literature they way we can now.
(Although Shakespeare sure pushed the line in his day, LOL LOL ;-) |

Trashy is way too vague... There are just more writers... Some are terrible, some are good, some are
great... There is definitely trash in there too... Before it was all bourgeois, now it takes more to
be avant-garde than killing some bulls or writing on some walls... :) that's horrible but pretty
clearly a valid viewpoint |
