Yes evolution, or at least the basics of evolutionary theory is forced upon students just as is
English, Mathematics, Social studies, History, Chemistry, and etc. |

Yes, students don't have the choice whether or not to listen to the theory. |

Sounds somewhat silly. School is supposed to be compulsory anyway. You could say PE and RE are
forced upon us. They teach us a theory, just like all of science. |

It is not forced, I used to go to a Roman Catholic scool - the teachers weren't allowed to speak
about evolution! |

It is isn't forced upon us but instead we are taught it and it is up to us to decide whether we
believe in it or not. I don't remember my biology teacher ever saying that evolution is real and is
the only explanation for us being here, but he did tell us how it works and related topics to it.
That's not forcing it upon us. |

When I went to school, there was no mention of all this. They just taught us Science.
It is a fact that government education does not include religion. If parents want their children to
learn opposing view then it is their job to make sure they learn it.
I have never looked into Intelligent Design, I will admit, but if for some reason my kids HAD to go
to public school, I would continue to make sure they learned important life lessons (that don't come
from a textbook) by sending them to Church. The Bible is meant to be interpreted individually, not
taught systematically. |

No not really..
Some teachers respect religious beliefs even tho some of them don't believe in God..
But its kinda annoying.
The first time I've been to my class,
my classmate and my teacher argued between evolution and creation theory..
My teacher said he respects those who have religious beliefs but he said that if u don't believe in
evolution theory,you're innocent..
That really offended me and my classmate.. |

No of coarse their not forced to learn it. I remember in high school my biology teacher said if
there are those who are apposed to learning about evolution they can be given an alternate
assignment. I of coarse chose to have an open mind. |

Well, churches are not required to present evolution in addition to intelligent design so why do
schools have to present both? If you want kids to learn intelligent design bring them to church.
If you want kids to learn science and the types of things they need to know to go on to college then
take them to school where they'll learn about evolution. |

I think evolution should be taught in biology because it is a fact that species evolve over time. I
don't necessarily think we should say that evolution discredits the concept of intelligent design
because many evolutionary scientists believe in God and that we are the way he wanted us to be.
Intelligent design should be taught in RE classes and if the subject is raised by a pupil in
biology, then the teacher should address the issue by explaining that, as far as science is
concerned, intelligent design has negligible support when compared with the theory of evolution. |

School systems are required to teach what is objectively accurate, as far as academic classes go. If
evolution is being “forced” upon students in schools, then so is history, language arts,
mathematics, and every other science curriculum taught. Intelligent Design is desired, by its
proponents, to be taught in science classrooms across the country. The reason it is not is fairly
simple actually. Intelligent Design is not science. I’ll list a few reasons why as well.
1. Intelligent Design is subjective and open to a wide variety of interpretation.
2. Intelligent Design leaves many questions unanswered that none of its proponents seem willing to
even attempt answering.
3. Intelligent Design proponents conduct no scientific experimentation.
4. Intelligent Design makes no scientific predictions as regular scientific theories do.
5. Intelligent Design is profoundly religious at its roots.
If you desire more information concerning Intelligent Design, evolution or science itself, simply
ask me. |
