Is Donald Trump's Refugee Ban Too Extreme?
Has he looked at the mess Europe is in?

No, its NOT TOO EXTREME. Calling it too extreme would be an understatement. The blacklisted nations had no prior records of terror against the States. One may say that this is a way to ensure that they don't do so in the future. But in order to ensure that law abiding citizens continue to do so, you met out a more stringent punishment to the outlaws instead of giving a first-hand experience of the penalties to the lawful ones.

I'll randomly jump in here...lol.

I do think the ban is too extreme. If you'll remember, Obama--with the approval of Congress--signed his travel ban, it was due to a terrorist attack from two Iraqi refugees in Kentucky. And it was a very specific ban --a single type of visa was targeted. Green card holders and those who had visas, not to mention refugees who had already applied were not affected. If it had been a full-stop ban for 6 months, no refugees from Iraq would have been admitted into the U.S., and while there was a slowing of refugees from Iraq into the U.S., it never completely stopped.

Fast forward to Trump, who full-on bans seven countries for 90 days--Syria indefinitely I believe--based on a campaign promise. There has been no evidence to suggest that accepting refugees into the U.S. Makes us any less safe. Banning everyone in such a way not only makes it easier for ISIS/IL to do whatever it is they want to do, but it leaves refugees stranded in war-torn countries where they could die.

And all because Trump says the vetting process needs to be extra-vetty. Please. The vetting process is quite stringent as is. If he wanted to add another layer to the vetting process for refugees coming in from these seven countries, fine--whatever floats your boat. But you don't full-stop refugees that are trying to flee their country because you feel unsafe or believe that the U.S. Is somehow unsafe for taking these people in.

I think the ban has to be extreme to give more time in inventing a far more stringent security check!

Once again, you voted on the wrong side. Voting this side agrees with the statement that the ban is too extreme.

Yes, since it is showing Trump's fear against ISIS and also the very scary threat of terror attacks in the USA.

How is that a bad thing? ISIS are nasty people, we should all be scared of them.

I am for and against it. I do feel that terrorism is a problem and travel should be better protected. Granted an American is more likely to die from an American than a terrorist. It does not minimize the problem that must be fixed. Obama did the same thing in during his presidency. I feel that travel should be better monitored and protected. However, a full on ban right now is not needed. It won't eliminate future problems. We need a better long term fix. Instead of something that will just temporarily rid travel.

I think the ban is justified under the present circumstances.
