Maybe not 95%, but most and it depends on the store |

This statement is so true that you might be able to add another 1% on. I can quite happily look
through clothes magazines and find that women have about 200 pages for general clothes, 30 for
lingerie and about 2,000,000 (exaggeration) for shoes. Men have all that in about 2. Same with
shops. A shop selling both women and mens clothes will have womens clothes spread out across the
entire bottom floor, have the majority of the top for shoes and men get a tiny corner for their
entire collection. It isn't on. There is no need to have such a wide range. Men don't. |

Women do shop too much. That is a fact.
Women should not shop so much.
Or waste so much money they might need to pay rent with when their man gets sick of their
shopping-ways and leaves their irresponsible hiney;-) |

I think that this is probably an accurate observation. I never really noticed this until I saw this
debate and went off to buy a new pair of shoes earlier today. For the first time, I was conscious of
the fact that the vast majority of the shoppers were women. Then I realized that the main difference
is that women seem happy to go in, stroll around, examine a range of products, while men will storm
in, as if they were on a mission, and will just as quickly leave, once the job is done. This is
basically what I do as well. I go online or flip through a catalogue to determine what I am looking,
upon which I will go in, find it, make the purchase as quickly and as efficiently as possible, and
then leave the mall without looking at anything else.
I can't really imagine going to a shopping centre just to spend the day aimlessly looking around.
This strikes me as rather frivolous and unnecessary. Rather, I find, pay and leave. It's like an
assignment--there's no joy in it, but I know that it has to get done. The only exception is when I
am at a bookstore; this represents the only time when I am happy to browse. |

I have never really thought about this before, but you are right. In a clothing store, most (if not
all) of the shoppers are women. Moreno described it well....guys buy clothes, women shop for
clothes. However, if you reverse it, you can say that 95% of shoppers in an Auto Parts store are
men. So, it really depends on what type of store you are talking about. Men do not like to shop for
clothes. However, they will shop for auto parts because they want their car to look and run great.
They could care less what their clothes look like, they just want their car to be noticed. Above
all, men will dream in an Auto parts store. So, men can shop if they are in a store that interest
them. Men are just not interested in clothes like women are. |
